Dysphagia, or difficulty swallowing, is a prevalent complication of Parkinson's disease (PD), which can significantly impair quality life. Despite the numerous studies on dysphagia in PD published various journals, there remains dearth bibliometric analysis within this domain. This study thus aims to examine global patterns research after over past 20 years, employing visual analysis.

Oropharyngeal dysphagia, or difficulty initiating swallowing, is a frequent problem in people with Parkinson's disease (PD) and can lead to aspiration pneumonia. The efficacy of pharmacological options limited. Postural strategies, such as chin-down manoeuvre when drinking, have had some degree success but may be difficult for who other limitations dementia neck rigidity, reproduce consistently. Using user-centred design approach multidisciplinary team, we developed tested an anti-choking mug PD that helps angle the head optimum position drinking. reflected anthropometric ergonomic aspects user needs features including regulation water flow rate sip volume, inner slope, thickened handle wide base, which promoted posture used. Prototype testing using digital technology compare flexion angles (the primary outcome), plus clinical outcomes assessed standard tools (Swallowing Clinical Assessment Score Disease (SCAS-PD) Movement Disorder Society-Unified Rating Scale (MDS-UPDRS) Parts II III), found significant improvements range parameters related efficient swallowing safe drinking versus sham mug.
