Fibrinogen,

in
hemostasis
by
serving
as
the
precursor
to
fibrin,
which
forms
structural
framework
of
blood
clots.
Beyond
coagulation,
fibrinogen
influences
immune
responses,
inflammation,
and
tissue
repair.
Oxidative
stress,
characterized
imbalance
between
reactive
oxygen
species
(ROS)
antioxidants,
induces
oxidation,
significantly
altering
its
structure
function.
This
narrative
review
synthesizes
findings
from
vitro,
ex
vivo,
clinical
studies,
emphasizing
impact
oxidation
on
clot
formation,
architecture,
degradation.
modifications

denser
fibrin
clots
with
thinner
fibers,
reduced
permeability,
heightened
resistance
fibrinolysis.
These
changes
exacerbate
prothrombotic
conditions
cardiovascular
diseases,

Histidine
is
a
versatile
amino
acid
with
metal-binding,
nucleophilic,
and
basic
properties
that
endow
many
peptides
proteins
biological
activity.
However,
histidine
itself
susceptible
to
oxidative
modifications
via
post-translational
modifications,
photo-oxidation,
metal-catalyzed
oxidation.
Despite
multiple
investigations
into
these
different
oxidation
systems,
the
varied
attributions
differential
outcomes
point
significant
gaps
in
our
understanding
of
coordination
requirements,
spectral
features,
reaction
products
accompany
Cu-catalyzed
histidine-containing
peptides.
Here,
we
use
model
Histatin-5,
salivary
peptide
Cu-potentiated
antifungal
activity
relies
on
its
residues,
characterize
complex
mixture
resulting
from
Cu
under
physiologically
relevant
reducing
oxidizing
conditions.
Characterization
LC-MS,
MS/MS,
UV-vis,
NMR
revealed
adjacent
residues
bis-His
site
are
main
target
oxidation,
predominant
being
2-oxo-His
His-His
cross-links
give
rise
distinctive
electronic
absorption
features
between
300-400
nm.
Doubly-
triply-oxygenated
peptides,
intramolecular
cross-links,
multimers
case
shorter
were
also
observed.
The
configuration
motif
may
enable
reactivity
not
available

Alzheimer's
disease
(AD)
and
frontotemporal
dementia
(FTD)
are
the
most
common
forms
of
globally.
AD
is
characterized
by
accumulation
amyloid-β
(Aβ)
plaques
hyperphosphorylated
tau
in
brain,
leading
to
progressive
memory
loss
cognitive
decline,
significantly
impairing
daily
life.
In
contrast,
FTD
marked
selective
degeneration
frontal
and/or
temporal
lobes,
typically
resulting
profound
changes
personality
social
behavior,
speech
disorders,
psychiatric
symptoms.
Numerous
studies
have
found
microRNAs
(miRNAs)-small,
non-coding
RNA
molecules
that
regulate
gene
expression
post-transcriptionally-to
be
dysregulated
FTD.
As
a
result,
miRNAs
emerged
as
promising
novel
biomarkers
for
these
diseases.
This
review
examines
current
understanding
FTD,
emphasizing
their
potential
accessible,
noninvasive
diagnosing
prevalent
neurodegenerative
disorders.

Abstract
Within
most
tissues,
the
extracellular
microenvironment
provides
mechanical
cues
that
guide
cell
fate
and
function.
Changes
in
matrix

as
aberrant
deposition,
densification

fibrotic
diseases
often
lead
to

dysfunction.

Introduction:
Bipolar
affective
disorder
(BD),
also
known
as
manic-depressive
illness,
is
a
chronic
and
recurrent
psychiatric
characterised
by
significant
mood
disturbances.
It
one
of
the
leading
causes
disability
worldwide
associated
with
high
risk
suicide.
Recent
studies
highlight
role
oxidative
stress
(OS)
in
pathogenesis
BD.
The
body's
pro/antioxidant
imbalance
adversely
affects
cellular
molecular
processes.
Aim:
aim
this
review
to
synthesise
current
state
knowledge
on
OS
aetiology
course
BD,
including
key
biomarkers
potential
therapeutic
interventions.
Methods:
A
scientific
literature
was
conducted,
articles
published
between
2000
2024.
Searches
were
conducted
PubMed,
Scopus
Web
Science
databases,
using
following
keywords:
'bipolar
disorder',
'oxidative
stress',
'antioxidants',
'biomarkers',
'mitochondrial
dysfunction',
'redox
homeostasis',
'treatment'.
Results:
Results
indicate
that
patients
BD
have
elevated
levels
markers,
increased
lipid
peroxidation,
altered
antioxidant
enzyme
activity
impaired
redox
homeostasis.
Treatment
lithium
other
stabilisers
may
modulate
which
mechanism
drug
action.
However,
inconclusive
data
suggest
need
for
further
research
clarify
relationship
