Tea is a significant source of flavonoids in the diet. Due to different production processes, amount bioactive compounds unfermented (green) and (semi-)fermented tea differs. Importantly, green has similar composition phenolic fresh, unprocessed leaves. It consists primarily monomeric flavan-3-ols, known as catechins, which epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) most abundant. Thanks its antioxidant, antiproliferative, antiangiogenic properties, EGCG attracted scientific community's attention potential use preventing and/or combating cancer. In this review article, we summarize literature reports found Google Scholar PubMed databases on anticancer effect selected malignant neoplasms women, i.e., breast, cervical, endometrial, ovarian cancers, have been published over last two decades. needs be emphasized that concentrations reported effective against cancer cells are typically higher than those plasma after polyphenol administration. Moreover, low bioavailability absorption appear main reasons for differences effects between vitro vivo studies. context, also decided look at possible solutions these problems, consisting combining with other components or using nanotechnology. Despite promising results studies conducted so far, mainly animal models, there no doubt further, broad-based activities necessary unequivocally assess oncological treatment combat women.

Many studies have found that tea has an antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer, anti-obesogenic and anti-diabetic effect, mostly associated with the content of anti-oxidant compounds. Polyphenols, being main secondary metabolites in tea, are often considered physiological markers determining a tea’s quality. Apart from production process components, brewing conditions can also influence levels antioxidants tea. This study aimed to verify whether time various types (5, 10 15 min) affects level extraction antioxidant compounds into infusions their activity. We examined 11 tea: green leaf bags, white black red yerba mate, raspberry butterfly pea flower (Clitoria ternatea) lychee plum hibiscus Total polyphenol (TPC), flavonoids anthocyanins content, as well determination antiradical capacity DPPH radical ABTS cation, were determined using spectrophotometric assays. Due activity infusions, optimum for (leaf bags), mate is min. Red should be ten minutes, it five minutes. The results refer temperature recommended by manufacturers.
