Obesity is a complex, chronic and inflammatory disease that affects more than one-third of the world's population, leading to higher incidence diabetes, dyslipidemia, metabolic syndrome, cardiovascular diseases, some types cancer. Several phytochemicals are used as flavoring aromatic compounds, also exerting many benefits for public health. This study aims summarize scrutinize beneficial effects most important against obesity. Systematic research current international literature was carried out in accurate scientific databases, e.g., Pubmed, Scopus, Web Science Google Scholar, using set critical representative keywords, such phytochemicals, obesity, metabolism, etc. studies unraveled potential positive berberine, carvacrol, curcumin, quercetin, resveratrol, thymol, etc., obesity disorders. Mechanisms action include inhibition adipocyte differentiation, browning white adipose tissue, enzymes lipase amylase, suppression inflammation, improvement gut microbiota, downregulation obesity-inducing genes. In conclusion, multiple bioactive compounds-phytochemicals exert Future molecular clinical must be performed unravel mechanisms anti-obesity activities these naturally occurring compounds.

Chronic pruritus, or persistent itching, is a debilitating condition that severely impacts quality of life, especially in palliative care settings. Traditional treatments often fail to provide adequate relief are associated with significant side effects, prompting interest alternative therapies. This review investigates the antipruritic potential eight medicinal plants: chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla), aloe vera (Aloe barbadensis), calendula (Calendula officinalis), curcumin (Curcuma longa), lavender (Lavandula angustifolia), licorice (Glycyrrhiza glabra), peppermint (Mentha piperita), and evening primrose (Oenothera biennis). These plants analyzed for their traditional applications, active bioactive compounds, mechanisms action, clinical evidence, usage, dosage, safety profiles. Comprehensive searches were conducted databases including PubMed, Web Science, Scopus, b-on, focusing on vitro, animal, studies using keywords like “plant”, “extract”, “pruritus”. Studies included regardless publication date limited English-language articles. Findings indicate compounds such as polysaccharides vera, curcuminoids turmeric, menthol exhibit anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, immune-modulating properties. Chamomile alleviate itching through anti-inflammatory skin-soothing while offer antimicrobial benefits alongside relief. Evening primrose, rich gamma-linolenic acid, effective atopic dermatitis-related itching. Despite promising preclinical results, challenges remain standardizing dosages formulations. The highlights necessity further trials ensure efficacy safety, advocating integrating these botanical therapies into complementary practices. Such approaches emphasize holistic treatment, addressing chronic pruritus’s physical emotional burden, thereby enhancing patient well-being.

Obesity is a leading worldwide health threat with ever-growing prevalence, it promotes the incidence of various diseases, particularly cardiovascular disease, metabolic syndrome, diabetes, hypertension, and certain cancers. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has been used to control body weight treat obesity for thousands years, medicinal herbs provide rich natural source effective agents against obesity. However, some problems such as complex active ingredients, poor quality control, unclear therapeutic mechanisms still need be investigated resolved. Prodrugs path forward overcome TCM deficiencies absorption, distribution, metabolism, excretion (ADME) properties, toxicity. This article aimed review possible prodrugs from plants that demonstrate beneficial effects on seek offer insights prodrug design well solution global issues.
