Dizziness and unstable gait with resultant falls are common symptoms among the older adults. Most of studies have focused on statistical analysis regarding single factor related to dizziness gait. On other hand, there very few comprehensive using a large number patients except several review papers. We retrospectively analyzed total 164 aged The underwent description Japanese version Handicap Inventory (DHI), measurements vestibular function, handgrip muscle strength, physical performance, height-adjusted appendicular skeletal mass, vitamin B1 B12, full-night polysomnography study, cognition test visual test. Average age was 80.5 ± 6.1 years ranged from 59 91 years. Forty-eight were males 116 females. Three causative factors, namely hypofunction, dysfunction sleep disturbance, independently combinedly associated in over 93% patients. Patients higher scores defined by these three factors had DHI. 23% showed and/or B12 deficiency, which highly sarcopenia/frailty. Cognitive impairment recognized 4.9% 5.0%, respectively. mainly disturbance. In addition, cognitive secondarily contribute Appropriate selection treatment according underlying causes would prevent accidental

Abstract Purpose of the Review The aim this review is to discuss and evaluate diabetic sarcopenia (DS) its relationship with nutrition by discussing mechanisms in detail comprehensively reviewing literature. Recent Findings Type 2 diabetes (T2DM) affects approximately 25% people aged 50 years over indicates a significant cost health for elderly. Nutrition an important part these treatment approaches, review, literature was reviewed, focusing on understanding DS nutrition. A comprehensive search conducted Web Science, Google Scholar, Scopus, Science Direct, PubMed from inception up July 2024. nutritional improve muscle mass, strength physical performance while improving diabetes-related metabolic risk glucose levels. In context, it determine energy intake individuals according calorie exceeding 30 kcal/kg. For individuals, protein at least 1–1.2 g/kg/day recommended, emphasis number timing meals pattern rich branched chain amino acids (BCAA). addition, adopt diet antioxidants choose patterns that contain sufficient levels macro micronutrients. Summary Mediterranean model can be good option DS. Comprehensive studies field are needed so clinicians make specific dietary recommendations

Background Sarcopenia has emerged as a global health concern, but the association between dietary vitamin levels and sarcopenia is not elucidated. This study aims to shed light on link of 11 vitamins risk in adults at age 20–59. Methods cross-sectional encompassed 2011–2018 data from National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) for aged was defined through appendicular lean mass body index ratio calculated via Dual-Energy X-ray Absorptiometry (DXA), with determined <0.789 male <0.512 female. Multivariate weighted logistic regression assisted assessing connection sarcopenia, results presented odds ratios (ORs) 95% confidence intervals (CIs). The dose-response various visualized restricted cubic splines (RCS). Subgroup analyses were carried out examine consistency aforementioned associations. Sensitivity analysis performed utilizing propensity score matching (PSM) adjust confounding factors enhance robustness results. Results Among 7,864 participants, 677 (8.6%) had 7,187 (91.4%) did not. RCS indicated that higher intakes VA, VB1, VB2, VB3, VB6, VB9, VB12, VC, VE, VK notably linked lowered ( P < 0.05). these, VE exhibited non-linear negative 0.05), while linear > yielded largely consistent After adjusted PSM, suggest intake VC remains significantly associated Conclusion Higher are related lower livelihood sarcopenia. These findings provide new evidence insights early interventions aimed preventing
