This review examines nutritional needs during pregnancy and lactation, focusing on the critical nutrients required for both maternal fetal health. Essential such as folic acid, vitamin D, iron, calcium, omega-3 fatty acids play a significant role in supporting development minimizing risk of complications like gestational diabetes, hypertension, preterm birth. Various dietary patterns, including Mediterranean, vegetarian/vegan, gluten-free diets, were evaluated their adequacy potential benefits. The Mediterranean diet was highlighted its protective effects against pregnancy-related health issues. In contrast, identified vegetarian vegan diets requiring careful planning to ensure sufficient intake key nutrients. Additionally, explored implications diabetes strategies managing blood sugar levels. intermittent fasting also discussed, with mixed evidence regarding safety impact outcomes. Overall, stresses importance tailored guidance optimal mother developing fetus lactation.

Epilepsy, a brain condition causing recurrent seizures, can disrupt various body functions, including urination. This study explored how alternate-day fasting (ADF), type of intermittent fasting, diet involving one day eating and subsequently affects urinary system health in epileptic rats. Using genetic rat model epilepsy, we examined bladder kidney function through tissue analysis, biochemical tests, physiological assessments, focusing on differences between males females. The results showed that epilepsy causes significant damage linked to inflammation oxidative stress. However, ADF reduces this by lowering restoring antioxidant balance. Male rats exhibited more damage, while female responded better ADF, likely due hormonal differences. These findings suggest as potential, cost-effective dietary approach protect against complications similar conditions. Understanding these effects may lead improved treatments for both genders quality life people with chronic diseases.
