ABSTRACT: Omega-3 fatty acids (OFAs) are essential macromolecules which frequently used to provide nutritional support in cancer patients. They have been recognised as immunonutrients, they play important role strengthening the immune responses against various disease including cancer. OFAs such eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic (DHA) shown great promise prevention its management. Epidemiological studies demonstrated a correlation between fish consumption reduced risk, evidence suggests that increased is linked lower risk of cancer, potentially due high levels bioactive fish. Experimental revealed capable modulating cell signalling pathways, gene expression influencing membrane composition, can promote apoptosis inhibition proliferation. Moreover, antioxidant property has reported oxidative stress-induced DNA damage. Apart from anticancer properties also good results managing related complications inflammation, gastrointestinal reactions, anorexia-cachexia syndrome. Several showed their efficacy relieving associated cachexia anorexia syndrome with significant improvements weight loss. OFA supplementation antidepressant enhanced well-being individuals. Despite promising effects many challenges remain like optimal dose determination, variable impact across types risks intake. Further large scale randomized control trials (RCTs) needed assisted treatment.

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is characterized by an extremely high mortality rate, mainly caused the metastatic potential of this type cancer. To date, chemotherapy remains backbone treatment colorectal Three main chemotherapeutic drugs used for are 5-fluorouracil, oxaliplatin and irinotecan which metabolized to active compound SN-38. The goal study was find genes connected resistance aforementioned construct a predictive gene expression-based classifier separate responders non-responders. In study, we analyzed expression profiles seven patient-derived CRC organoids performed correlation analyses between IC50 values three standard-of-care drugs. We also included in publicly available datasets cell lines, thus combining two different vitro models relevant research. Logistic regression build classifiers Stage IV non-metastatic II/III patients. Prognostic performance evaluated through Kaplan-Meier survival analysis log-rank tests, while independent prognostic significance assessed using multivariate Cox proportional hazards modeling. A small set showed consistent with across datasets. While some were previously implicated prognosis drug response, several linked first time. resulting signatures successfully stratified patients, clinical utility improving outcomes after further validation. This highlights advantages integrating diverse experimental models, such as identify novel biomarkers enhance understanding CRC.

Introduction Patients with gastrointestinal cancers are prone to acute kidney injury (AKI) due treatment or disease progression, and current diagnostic methods exhibit insufficient sensitivity specificity. This study aims evaluate the potential value of CDK1 STAT1 in diagnosis AKI this patient population. Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on adjacent tissue, cancerous clinical data tissue from 150 cancer patients treated at our hospital May 2022 2023. Differentially expressed genes (DEGs) associated were identified through bioinformatics analysis. The expression DEGs proteins tissues assessed using immunohistochemical scoring (H scores). classified into (n = 42) non-AKI groups 108) according KDIGO criteria. Univariate multivariate logistic regression analyses performed investigate influencing factors occurrence. Spearman correlation used explore relationship between biomarkers (Scr, BUN, MAU, UA). application early evaluated ROC curves. Results Bioinformatics CDK1, STAT1, COL1A2, COL1A1 as related cancer. Immunohistochemical revealed elevated H scores for tumor tissues. showed no significant differences age, sex, marital status, education level, monthly income, type, stage, markers (CEA, CA242, CA50) (P > 0.05). However, group exhibited significantly higher levels UA, compared < Multivariate confirmed that independent risk patients. Correlation indicated a positive association biomarker curve demonstrated possess high detection cancer, enhanced efficacy when combination. Conclusion serve indicators occurrence
