Pre-operative anxiety in children is very common and associated with adverse outcomes.The aim of this study was to investigate if virtual reality exposure (VRE) as a preparation tool for elective day care surgery lower levels anxiety, pain emergence delirium compared control group receiving usual (CAU).A randomised controlled single-blind trial.A single university children's hospital the Netherlands from March 2017 October 2018.Two-hundred children, 4 12 years old, undergoing under general anaesthesia.On surgery, VRE were exposed realistic child-friendly immersive version operating theatre, so that they could get accustomed environment anaesthesia procedures.The primary outcome during induction (modified Yale Preoperative Anxiety Scale, mYPAS). Guidelines recommend psychological intervention for children, adolescents, and adults with childhood-onset heart disease their families, yet a comprehensive review of interventions is lacking. We aimed to determine the efficacy this population.We searched 6 electronic databases until August, 2017 English-language, controlled trials or congenital disease, inherited arrhythmias, cardiomyopathies, family members. Outcomes interest included: anxiety, depression, stress distress, health-related quality life, coping adjustment, developmental outcomes, physical health, parent outcomes.Of 7,660 identified articles, 11 articles reporting on 9 unique met inclusion criteria. Background: This study explores barriers and facilitators to psychological safety during medical procedures among individuals diagnosed with chronic illnesses in childhood. Psychological healthcare, detected via neuroception the autonomic nervous system’s responses perceived or threat, is essential for well-being mental health of chronically ill patients, especially those early diagnoses. Methods: Using Polyvagal Theory as a framework, semi-structured interviews were conducted six participants (aged 20–64) who experienced disease from young age. The Neuroception Safety Scale (NPSS) guided thematic exploration understand participants’ experiences. Thematic analysis identified key themes that reflect contributors detractors care. Results: Four primary developed: (1) knowledge empowerment through information facilitated inquiry, (2) holistic acknowledgment social impacts, (3) role parental involvement healthcare interactions, (4) need an individualised, patient-centred approach. Objectives The importance of personalized and dignified care is increasingly being recognized in health policy practice.
