Maintaining a healthy diet is essential for both physical and mental well-being. This study investigated the association of health status with perceived barriers to maintaining diets among Bangladeshi adults. cross-sectional was conducted between January June 2023 in Bangladesh. A total 400 adults aged 18 60 years who reside Dhaka, Chattogram, Gazipur cities were recruited using multistage sampling technique. questionnaire consisting 12 questions adapted from previous literature used assess diets. Mental measured validated DASS-21 scale. quantile regression-based approach ascertain The five most frequently reported use junk food as reward or treat (56.25%), difficulty controlling eating habits when friends (56%), cost (44.5%), taking at work (46.5%), difficult stay motivated eat (25%). found that gender, marital status, living arrangement, working hours, family monthly income significantly associated observed be scores. Depression (β =0.34, 95% CI: 0.17 0.51) anxiety =0.14, 0.01 0.28) barrier scores 50th quantile. Stress also 10th =0.18, 0.09 0.27) 25th quantiles =0.12, 0.03 0.21). Eating disorders, including food neophobia and restrictive eating behaviors, are pervasive among university students. This study evaluated the psychometric properties of Nine-Item Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder Scale (NIAS), Düsseldorf Orthorexia (DOS), Night Syndrome Questionnaire (NESQ), Zung's Self-Rating Depression (SDS), Perceived Stress (PSS) students in China Pakistan to assess reliability validity explore relationships between behaviors mental health. Initially, responses from 1056 were obtained, which reduced 1002 after screening. Sociodemographic data collected. Descriptive statistics, analysis, Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) performed using SPSS Moment Structures (AMOS). The demographic showed that 52% participants female 48% male, with a mean age 22.13 ± 3.86 years. Most single (93.2%) had BMI 22.06 4.02 kg/m2. NIAS high internal consistency (Cronbach's Alpha: 0.731), CFA revealed strong factor loadings (0.57-0.79). DOS good (factor loadings: 0.53-0.77). NESQ indicated higher night Chinese students, who also stress (PSS: Mean Difference = 4.116, 95% CI: 3.36-4.87) depression (SDS: 0.229, 0.19-0.27) compared Pakistani more (NIAS: -0.422, -0.51 -0.33). evaluation demonstrated assessing health Pakistan. These findings highlight cultural differences, showing levels exhibiting behaviors. results suggest need for culturally tailored interventions address food-related issues improve students' well-being.

Several studies have indicated a potential association between obesity, depression, and sleep disorders. However, the role of depression in mediating relationship obesity disorders remains unclear. The Body Roundness Index (BRI), more precise anthropometric measure than traditional body mass index (BMI), is particularly effective assessing visceral fat levels. This study examines BRI disorders, with focus on whether influences this association. included data from 32,504 participants National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) 2005–2018 cycle. was examined through subgroup analysis, restricted cubic spline (RCS) modeling, threshold effect multivariable logistic regression. Furthermore, predictive capabilities various indices—including BRI, weight-adjusted waist (WWI), BMI, weight—on disorder incidence were assessed using Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) curve analysis. Finally, Mediation analysis also performed to explore relationship. participants, whom 4,568 reported After adjusting for all covariates regression, each one-unit increase associated 13% higher prevalence (OR = 1.13, 95% CI: 1.09, 1.16) an 8% 1.08, 1.05, 1.11). Similar results obtained when divided into tertiles, significant trend (P < 0.05). RCS analyses revealed nonlinear prevalence, breakpoint 3.508. This cross-sectional study, involving 250 healthy undergraduate students, aimed to examine the association between Ultra-Processed Food (UPF) consumption and mental health status. Mental was assessed using 12-Item General Health Questionnaire (GHQ-12), where participants were classified as either normal or high-risk based on their scores. Subsequently, dietary intake Dietary History (DHQ), examining meals throughout day. Additionally, degree of food processing NOVA classification. Univariate multivariate logistic regression analyses used evaluate relationship status, ultra-processed consumption, contributing factors. The average daily energy 1,216±488 kcal, with 25.7% coming from foods. Those at higher risk for issues typically had a slightly lower fat percentage (26.5±8.5%) but total body water (50.6±4.7%) compared those health. Even after adjustment confounding factors, high foods remained strongly associated an increased problems (OR=2.196, 95% CI:1.056–4.566, p=0.035). Further research is needed fully understand effects enhance awareness risks while promoting fresh, minimally processed alternatives.
