This article discusses the importance of incorporating social and ethical knowledge into engineering education through a course in Science, Technology, Society (STS). With advent Fifth Industrial Revolution, it is crucial for engineers to be aware societal needs Sustainable Development Goals outlined by United Nations. However, curricula often prioritize technical scientific alone, neglecting aspects. We present description STS as taught at University St. La Salle Bacolod, Philippines, during academic years 2020-2021 2021-2022. Here, we government course-level guidelines that guided described culminating learning evidence (CLE), final deliverable course. Examples CLE submissions were provided, followed evaluations reflections on lessons learned. concluded proposing enhancements design implementation, aiming improve awareness among students.

Background: In response to the surge of COVID-19 cases in Philippines, Bayanihan E-Konsulta (BEK) was launched provide free teleconsultation services. As healthcare started shifting online respond public’s health needs, there little understanding beneficiary experience during their remote interaction with provider and its related With this, study aimed describe presence valued service processes among beneficiaries BEK. Methods: One hundred seventy-five posts tweets from Facebook, Twitter, Instagram were gathered using search terms relating BEK hashtags April 2021 May 2022. After exclusion irrelevant data, data that do not contain following criteria: 1) Date posting: 5, 2021, 31, 2022; 2) Location: Philippines; 3) written Filipino or English language, direct thematic content analyses conducted determine beneficiaries’ process Findings: This directed analysis uncovered highlighted Operational Presence most BEK-related posts, followed by Clinical Presence, Social Therapeutic Presence. Subsequently, surfaced four themes: chatbot-aided assessment, immediate volunteer response, comprehensive medical attention, empathetic care concern. Conclusion: emphasized services which hold high regard, specifically important role quick efficient service, client-centered approaches created a comfortable accessible setting for receiving rendering care. The findings may help other providers understand how enhance better delivery, patient outcomes, satisfaction.
