Despite
decades
of
rigorous
research
and
numerous
clinical
trials,
Alzheimer’s
disease
(AD)
stands
as
a
notable
healthcare
challenge
this
century,
with
effective
therapeutic
solutions
remaining
elusive.
Recently,
the
endocannabinoid
system
(ECS)
has
emerged
an
essential
target
due
to
its
regulatory
role
in
different
physiological
processes,
such
neuroprotection,
modulation
inflammation,
synaptic
plasticity.
This
aligns
previous
showing
that
cannabinoid
receptor
ligands
have
potential
trigger
functional
structure
neuronal
brain
networks,
potentially
impacting
memory
processing.
Therefore,
our
study
aims
assess
effects
prolonged,
intermittent
exposure
(over
90
days)
JWH-133
(0.2
mg/kg)
EU-GMP
certified
Cannabis
sativa
L.
(Cannabixir®
Medium
Flos,
2.5
on
recognition
memory,
well
their
influence
metabolism
expanded
APP/PS1
mice.
Chronic
therapy
resulted
reduced
anxiety-like
behavior
partially
reversed
cognitive
deficits.
Additionally,
reduction
was
observed
both
number
size
Aβ
plaque
deposits,
along
decreased
cerebral
glucose
metabolism,
decline
expression
mTOR
CB2
receptors.
Furthermore,
revealed
enlarged
astrocytes
enhanced
M1
mAChR
mice
subjected
treatment.
Our
findings
highlight
pivotal
involvement
extended
pathological
aspects
associated
AD,
presenting
preclinical
evidence
support
continued
exploration
assessment
for
AD

The
findings
concerning
the
association
between
endocannabinoid
system
(ECS)
and
Alzheimer's
disease
(AD)
exhibited
inconsistencies
when
examining
expression
levels
of
endocannabinoids.
This
study
aimed
to
provide
a
comprehensive
summary
studies
regarding
alterations
ECS
in
AD.
Six
databases
were
thoroughly
searched
for
literature
select
relevant
investigating
AD,
including
changes
cannabinoid
receptors
(CB1R
CB2R),
endocannabinoids
(2-AG
AEA),
their
associated
enzymes
(FAAH
MAGL).
Traditional
meta-analysis
evaluated
results
showed
no
significant
differences
components
healthy
controls
AD
patients.
However,
subgroup
analysis
revealed
significantly
lower
CB1R
than
controls,
particularly
using
western
blot
(SMD
=
-0.88,
