Fish oil is highly susceptible to lipid oxidation, which leads safety loss during storage. Natural antioxidants can prevent oxidation. Satureja bachtiarica Bunge, also known as savory, an endemic species plant that contains the necessary bioactive compounds and possesses antioxidant activity suitable for this purpose. This study featured effects of savory extract its essential stabilizing agents on kilka fish oil. We assessed oxidative stability fortified with in amounts 0.5 1%. Then we compared their samples treated a synthetic 35 days at 40°C. The were tested activity, acid degree value, thiobarbituric acid-reactive substances, para-anisidine conjugated dienoic acids, peroxide total oxidation free fatty acids. Savory concentration 1% was more effective than other reducing rate On storage day 35, control sample yielded following data: value = 14.79 meq O2/kg, 32.49 mL/g, substances 5.82 mg MDA/g, 116.03, index 136.27. These results significantly (p < 0.05) higher those 1 % oil: 9.52 22.41 3.46 78.3, 108.09. contained unsaturated acids (66.76–68.83%) saturated (31.13–32.6%). demonstrated good potential natural extends shelf life

Myocardial infarction (MI) is a serious heart ailment that requires cutting-edge remedies for effective treatment. This study examines the possible cardioprotective effects of hydroalcoholic extract from Satureja hortensis L. (HASH) in rats with isoproterenol (ISO) induced myocardial infarction. The were pretreated orally low (200 mg/kg), high dose (400 and metoprolol (10 their respective groups 30 days, followed by two subcutaneous doses (ISO). Blood was obtained to measure biochemicals such as creatine kinase-MB (CK-MB), Troponin I, Alanine transaminase (ALT), Aspartate (AST), lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), an electrocardiogram (ECG) rat recorded after experiment. integrity examined histopathologically, malondialdehyde (MDA) levels antioxidant enzyme concentrations assessed using tissue homogenate. Rats caused ISO displayed significantly (P < 0.001) augmented CK-MB, LDH, AST, ALT aberrant ECG patterns, alteration cardiac mass well enhaced oxidative stress marker levels. Besides, biochemical results validated myocardium histology. Pre-treatment animals mg/kg) HASH or standard agent (metoprolol) prevented ISO-induced alterations above parameters significant 0.01) level metabolic derangements functional alterations. Our research suggests pre-treatment has action can prevent toxicity ISO. Therefore, might be promising therapeutic plant further investigated potential properties.

The recent outbreaks of viral infections have underscored the urgent need for effective antiviral agents. While synthetic antivirals are frequently employed, they may limited efficacy and cause negative side effects due to their nature. An alternative approach that holds promise is phytotherapy, which employs medicinal plants secondary metabolites treat various infections. Herbal remedies offer several advantages, such as lower toxicity increased in some outbreaks. As extraction technology customized delivery systems continue advance, herbal-based therapies gaining greater popularity. current review article summarizes phytoconstituents isolated from demonstrated effectiveness against diseases, hepatitis B (HBV), human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), coronavirus, influenza virus. comprehensively examines scientific literature on phytoconstituents, activity, diseases found Google Scholar, PubMed, Science Direct, Research Gate databases using significant keywords a duration window set between 1995 2022. analysis suggests aerial parts been primarily screened properties, while tubers/roots still be extensively explored. There potential formulation herbal extracts, research this area could lead development new therapeutic options.

Abstract Essential oils are a subject of study due to the heterogeneity their components, which vary according genus and species plant material. The objective this was physicochemical characterization bioactive components essential oil (EO) extracted from wild punamuña (Satureja Boliviana) runtuhuayra (Clinopodium Weberbaueri (Mansf.) Govaerts) herbs high Andean areas southern Peru. extraction EO both carried out using steam distillation technique, density gravimetric methods acidity, peroxide index refraction by analytical recommended Norma Tecnica Peruana (NTP). compounds were quantified gas chromatography coupled mass spectrometry detector (GC-MS). A better performance obtained punañuna 0.38% (w/w) compared 0.28% (w/w); In samples, refractive similar values (0.93-0.94) g/mL (1.528-1.520) (p>0.05) respectively; However, acid showed significant difference between samples studied (p<0.05). 37 synthesized as secondary metabolites in Satureja Boliviana identified, with majority being monoterpenes (62%) highlighted menthone, L-menthone, pulegone 3-cyclohexen-1-one. 2-isopropyl-5-methyl, linalool, α-cadinene α-cadinol; Meanwhile, Clinopodium Weberbaueri, 28 detected quantified, predominate (61%) made up (45.67%); isomenthol (13.85%), menthone (6.05%), carvacrol (5.39%), also D-limonene; o-cymene; 3-octanol; β-pinene α-terpineol successively. This aforementioned reveals recent new additive or ingredient alternative for industry its biological value associated antioxidant, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory activities psychotherapeutics.
