Abstract Background Herbal cake-separated moxibustion (HM) is one of the characteristic therapies for prevention and treatment hyperlipidemia (HLP). However, effect HM on plasma lipid metabolism in HLP rabbits not clear. Methods New Zealand were fed with high-fat diet 8 weeks to induce model, then was intervened weeks. The level blood serum detected by full biochemical analyzer, pathological changes liver tissue observed oil red O staining. Then we used ultra-high performance liquid chromatography / quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry combined multivariate statistical analysis non-targeted lipidomic analysis. Results ameliorated induced abnormal improved deposition high cholesterol diet. Non-targeted showed that changed profile rabbits.

Metabolic-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD) has become increasingly widespread. The intestine is the primary site of lipid absorption and important for homeostasis metabolism. However, mechanism underlying participation intestinal tract in development MAFLD requires additional investigation. In this study, analysis single-cell transcriptome tissue from cynomolgus monkeys found that hepatic leukemia factor (HLF) participated genetic regulation absorption. Results obtained normal intestine-specific Hlf-knockout mice confirmed HLF alleviated barrier disorders by inhibiting peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor alpha (PPARα) expression. HLF/PPARα axis mediating gut microbiota-derived extracellular vesicles (fEVs), thereby hepatocyte ferroptosis. Lipidomics functional experiments verified taurochenodeoxycholic acid (TCDCA), a conjugated bile contained fEVs, had key role process. conclusion, activity was mediated fEVs identified as novel therapeutic target MAFLD.

Abstract Elderly patients with hyperlipidemia often exhibit resistance to conventional hypolipidemic treatments, underscoring the need for more effective strategies address lipid imbalances in this high‐risk group. This study introduces LipClean, an aerogel‐based apheresis device specifically designed remove harmful plasma lipids. LipClean is constructed using hydrophilic cellulose fibers, which serve as a supramolecular platform synthesizing hydrophobic conjugated polymers through Sonogashira‐Hagihara reaction. These are then cross‐linked fibers via phosphorylation, generating aerogel monolith interpenetrating network of and polymers. Unlike bilayer aerogels that separate layers, LipClean's structure precisely engineered polymer design gradient cross‐linking. optimization enhances both bodily fluid flow adsorption while minimizing removal essential components ensuring unobstructed cell passage. In preclinical testing, significantly reduced triglyceride cholesterol levels elderly rat model normalized blood samples from hypertensive patients. Importantly, purified maintained normal cells physiological biochemical indicators after apheresis, highlighting potential managing hyperlipidemia‐related disorders. study, therefore, underscores importance interdisciplinary collaboration driving medical innovation.

Abstract Obesity (OB) is a prevalent metabolic disorder. With the advancement of economy, prevention and treatment obesity big problem for global community. The methods to lose weight include exercise, diet, medicine, surgery. Compared with other methods, diet regulation safer more effective. Hawthorn fruit has effect reducing weight, but mechanism effectiveness are not clear. In this study, model rats used conduct scientific pharmacological research on hawthorn flavonoids. flavonoids can effectively improve body lipid accumulation, levels obese rats. contents colon analyzed using 16S rDNA sequencing technology. intestinal microflora in changed significantly after treatment, they tended be control group. Based liquid chromatography‐mass spectrometry, serum metabolomics showed that metabolites significantly, treatment. especially involved biological processes grade bile acid biosynthesis, histidine metabolism, metabolism. Pearson correlation analysis disorder microorganisms connected changes metabolites. These findings give new idea about how help obesity.

Birds are sensitive to heavy metal pollution, and lead (Pb) contamination can negatively affect their liver gut. Therefore, we used budgerigars examine gut toxicosis caused by Pb exposure in bird, the possible toxic mechanisms. The findings showed increased weight decreased body weight. Migratory birds excel in phenotypic flexibility, adapting physiologically as their life histories and environments require. Discerning the metabolic processes underlying migrants' physiology, an emergent property of multiple continuous dynamic organism–environment interactions, is therefore challenging, particularly under natural conditions. Accordingly, analyses snapshot‐sampled serum‐circulating metabolites, versatile readily applicable for migrating birds, have increasingly become method choice such physiologic inference. However, atemporal nature single sampling might obscure links between observed metabolite concentrations producing them, necessitating analytical decoupling focal from broader biochemical background. In present study, we examined how variation combined fat muscle fuel stores, traits pivotal migratory context, relates to metabolomes spring‐migrating Eurasian blackcaps stopping‐over. Our accounted potential spatiotemporal influences form time past night's fasting random local conditions across three sites within Negev Desert. We shifted focus compound‐level analysis preselected metabolites towards level inclusive metabolome, quantifying lipophilic polar molecules via UHPLC–MS/MS untargeted metabolomic technique. results indicated a general relationship stores comprising 16 326 6923 compounds, among which 918 44 were annotated, respectively. By applying generalized latent‐variable linear modeling (GLLVM) upon annotated identified several candidate biomarkers, some novel notably fuel‐associated increase serum ceramides likely derived circulating very low‐density lipoproteins (VLDLs). Relying on estimated with foraging modeled residual covariations demonstrate fuel–metabolite associations generally consistent higher fat‐ lower protein mobilization having greater decreased utilization ingested nutrients accumulate over time, thus introducing approach physiological study birds.
