Recombinant hirudin attenuates pulmonary hypertension and thrombosis in acute pulmonary embolism rat model

Background
Acute
pulmonary
embolism
(APE)
is
classified
as
a
subset
of
diseases
that
are
characterized
by
lung
obstruction
due
to
various
types
emboli.
Current
clinical
APE
treatment
using
anticoagulants
frequently
accompanied
high
risk
bleeding
complications.
Recombinant
hirudin
(R-hirudin)
has
been
found
have
antithrombotic
properties.
However,
the
specific
impact
R-hirudin
on
remains
unknown.
Methods
Sprague-Dawley
(SD)
rats
were
randomly
assigned
five
groups,
with
thrombi
injections

models.

(ECM)

resulting

vascular
remodeling.In
hypertension,

reduces
MMP-2
activity
through
mechanisms

not
been
elucidated
yet.Thus,

study
was

evaluate

effects
