This study compared inter-individual variability in the adaptive responses of cardiorespiratory fitness, anaerobic power, and motor abilities male volleyball players to high-intensity interval training (HIIT) prescribed as repetitive drop jumps (interval jumping) running-based intervals running). Twenty-four collegiate were equally randomized two groups executing 11 minutes running or jumping during which they ran repeated drop-jumps for 15 seconds, alternating with seconds passive recovery. Before after 6-week period, aerobic cardiac function, power evaluated using a graded exercise test, impedance cardiography, lower-body Wingate respectively. Additionally, linear speed, agility, tests determined abilities. Both interventions significantly enhanced maximum oxygen uptake (V̇O2max), velocity associated V̇O2max, first second ventilatory thresholds (VT1 & VT2), maximal output (Q̇max), stroke volume (SVmax), peak average output, vertical jump, change direction, sprint speed. Interval group demonstrated greater improvement squat jump (p = 0.001; 95% CI: 2.51-5.42) countermovement 2.11-4.61) group. Conversely, elicited enhancement speed 0.002; 2.53-5.71) than Examining individual residual revealed that induced more homogenized adaptations across individuals VT1 0.04; 0.03-1.33), Q̇max 0.03; 0.04-1.64), SVmax 0.02-1.75), 0.01; 0.72-1.95) contrast jumping. However, uniformity response surpassed 0.02; 0.08-1.32). Although both modalities effectively improved mentioned variables concurrently, tailoring HIIT intervention reference intensity modality specific each quality may enhance measured quality.

This study compared cardiorespiratory fitness, bio-motor abilities, and body composition indexes of sprint kayakers categorized into three different age groups two expertise levels international- club-level athletes. Seventy-three male juniors (n = 14, 16.2 ± 0.8), under 23 [U23 15, 20.2 1.6)], professionals 16, 27.1 4.8), 26.9 6.6), international-level 13, 27.3 3.2) were studied. Cardiorespiratory fitness (assessed using incremental exercise test), 500 1,000-m paddling performance kayak ergometer), upper-body power 30 s all-out Wingate test) strength through one repetition tests for bench press, cable row, prone pull exercises), as well (measured dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry) evaluated on four occasions separated by 48 h recovery. U23 and, especially, indicated significantly (p < 0.05) greater outcomes the majority parameters [maximal oxygen uptake (VO2max), velocity corresponding to VO2max, Oxygen pulse, maximal ventilation, second ventilatory threshold] performance. professional differed in first threshold 500, but not VO2max or threshold. Professionals also showed a lower fat mass, higher muscle (bench pull, seated row) than junior kayakers. Strength indicators had values athletes juniors. International-level superior middle (500-m), long-distance (1,000-m) time trial performance, power, fat, mass (particularly threshold), composition, strength/power are best differentiating factors ages levels. These findings could aid coaches prescribing training programs focusing improving determining predicting identifying talent.
