palmitoyltransferases
(CPTs)
play
a
key
role
in
controlling
the
oxidation
of
long-chain
fatty
acids
and
are
potential
therapeutic
targets
for
diseases
with
strong
metabolic
component,

as
obesity,
diabetes,
cancer.
Four
distinct
proteins
CPT1A,
CPT1B,
CPT1C,
CPT2,
differing
tissue
expression
catalytic
activity.
CPT1s
finely
regulated
by
malonyl-CoA,
metabolite
whose
intracellular
levels
reflect
cell's
nutritional
state.
Although
CPT1C
does
not
exhibit

Obesity
