The goji fruit fly, Neoceratitis asiatica, is a major pest on the well-known medicinal plant Lycium barbarum. Dissecting molecular mechanisms of oviposition selection N. asiatica regarding host will help to identify new strategies for fly control. However, mechanism chemical communication between and remains unclear. Hence, our study found that young volatiles induced response gravid female asiatica. After was exposed volatiles, expression six chemosensory genes (NasiOBP56h3 OBP99a1 in antennae; OBP99a2, OBP99a3 CSP2 legs; OBP56a ovipositor) significantly upregulated different organs compared with group without odor treatment according transcriptome data. Further results qPCR verification show levels selected after flies were mostly consistent We concluded may be involved recognition by Our preliminarily identifies as key factor behavior which facilitate further studies
