Co-contamination by heavy metal and organic pollutant alters impacts of genotypic richness on soil nutrients

Co-contamination
by
heavy
metal
and
organic
pollutant
may
negatively
influence
plant
performance,
increasing
the
number
of
genotypes
for
a
population
reduce
this
negative
effect.
To
test
hypothesis,
we
constructed
experimental
populations
Hydrocotyle
vulgaris
consisting
single,
four
or
eight
in
soils
contaminated
cadmium,
cypermethrin
both.
Biomass,
leaf
area
stem
internode
length
H.
were
significantly
lower
soil
both
cadmium
than
only.
A
reverse
pattern
was
found
specific
area.
In
general,
genotypic
richness
its
interaction
with
contamination
did
not
growth
morphology.
However,
nutrients
varied
response
to
richness.
Moreover,
positively
correlated
total
nitrogen,
but
potassium
matter.
We
conclude
that
co-contamination
suppress
compared

little
role
regulating
these
effects.
