Abstract Sulfur (S) is an essential macronutrient for plant growth and metabolism. SULTR2;1 a low-affinity sulfate transporter facilitating the long-distance transport of in Arabidopsis. The physiological function life cycle still needs to be determined. Therefore, we analyzed transport, S-containing metabolite accumulation using Arabidopsis disruption lines, sultr2;1–1 sultr2;1–2, from seedling mature stages clarify metabolic roles SULTR2;1. We observed that distribution stems was affected sultr2;1 mutants, resulting decreased levels sulfate, cysteine, glutathione (GSH) total S stems, flowers siliques; however, GSH increased rosette leaves. This suggested role leaves primary stem. In addition, mutants unexpectedly bolted earlier than wild-type without affecting biomass. Correlation between bolting timing leaf or limited early stem can trigger bolting. Overall, this study demonstrated critical maintaining aerial part transitioning vegetative reproductive phase.

Abstract Cannabis sativa L., one of the oldest cultivated crops, has a complex domestication history due to its diverse uses for fibre, seed, oil, and drugs, wide geographic distribution. This review explores how human selection shaped biology hemp drug-type Cannabis, focusing on acquisition utilization nitrogen phosphorus, resulting changes in source–sink relations shape their contrasting phenology. Hemp been optimized rapid, slender growth nutrient efficiency, whereas cultivars have selected compact with large phytocannabinoid-producing female inflorescences. Understanding these use ontogenetic differences will enhance our general understanding resource allocation plants. Knowledge gained comparison other model species, such as tomato, rice, or Arabidopsis can help inform crop improvement sustainability cannabis industry.

Flowering time in plants is a complex process regulated by environmental conditions such as photoperiod and temperature, well nutrient conditions. While the impact of major nutrients like nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium on flowering has been recognized, significance micronutrient imbalances their deficiencies should not be neglected because they affect floral transition from vegetative stage to reproductive stage. The secondary calcium, magnesium, sulfur participate various aspects flowering. Micronutrients boron, zinc, iron, copper play crucial roles enzymatic reactions hormone biosynthesis, affecting flower development reproduction well. current review comprehensively explores interplay between microelements time, summarizes underlying mechanism plants. Consequently, better understanding will provide clues reveal regulating improve crop plant industries.

Abstract Nitrogen (N) is a macronutrient limiting crop productivity with varied requirements across species and genotypes. Understanding the mechanistic basis of N responsiveness by comparing contrasting genotypes could inform development selection varieties lower demands, or agronomic practices to sustain yields inputs. Given established role millets in ensuring climate-resilient food nutrition security, we investigated physiological genetic nitrogen foxtail millet (Setaria italica L.). We had previously identified genotypic variants linked responsiveness, here dissect trait examining molecular behaviour responsive (NRp-SI58) non-responsive (NNRp-SI114) accessions at high low N. Under N, NRp-SI58 allocates significantly more biomass nodes, internodes roots, developing grains, effective remobilizing flag leaf compared NNRp-SI114. Post-anthesis gene expression suggests that differences induce much higher transcript abundance NNRp-SI114 than NRp-SI58, large proportion which potentially regulated APETALA2 (AP2) transcription factors. Overall, study provides novel insights into regulation manipulation S. italica.

Proper flowering is essential for the reproduction of all kinds plants. Oat an important cereal and forage crop; however, its cultivation limited because it a long-day plant. The molecular mechanism by which oats respond to different photoperiods still unclear. In this study, oat plants were treated under short-day 10 days, 15 20 25 30 40 days 50 respectively. Under treatment, entered reproductive stage, while remained vegetative treatment. Forty-two samples subjected RNA-Seq compare gene expression patterns long- photoperiods. A total 634-5,974 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) identified each time point, floral organ primordium differentiation stage showed largest number DEGs, spikelet smallest number. Gene Ontology (GO) analysis that plant hormone signaling transduction metabolism processes significantly changed in photoperiod regulation oat. Moreover, Kyoto Encyclopedia Genes Genomes (KEGG) Mapman revealed DEGs mainly concentrated circadian rhythm, protein antenna pathways sucrose process. Additionally, transcription factors (TFs) involved various explored. Combining information, we established model induced photoperiod. Taken together, has large effect at both morphological transcriptomic levels, these responses ultimately promote Our findings expand understanding as plant, explored could be used breeding help break limitations future.
