Marine microalgae offer significant potential as sustainably cultivable microorganisms for the biorefining of a diverse array functional metabolites. In this study, three species marine microalgae, Tetraselmis chuii Butcher CCAP 66/21B (Chlorophyte), Phaeodactylum tricornutum Bohlin 1052/1 (Diatom) and Amphidinium carterae Hulburt 1102/8 (Dinoflagellate), were batch cultivated their biomass retrieved analysis in terms pigment fatty acid composition well bioactivity potential. Natural antioxidant compounds from plants can contribute to pharmacological activities by neutralizing free radicals. Limited research has explored the phytochemical characteristics of filamentous green algae and their properties. In this study, three algal species, Oedogonium angustistomum, Ulothrix variabilis Mougeotia pulchella (Chlorophyceae), were isolated freshwater ecosystems Kerala, constituents, total phenol flavonoid contents evaluated. The study investigated whether sequential extraction with solvents varying polarity, such as petroleum benzine, acetone, methanol, water methanol crude (70% methanol), would affect phenolic algae. Results indicated that extracts had highest yield in aqueous Oedogonium, while benzine fractions yielded lowest. Preliminary analysis showed presence reducing sugars, flavonoids, triterpenoids acetone extract, which contained more compounds. Microalgae are a potentially valuable source of structurally different and biologically active compounds experiencing pharmaceutical nutraceutical value. Here we compared the antioxidant, in vitro antimicrobial activity, anticancer potential widely investigated green microalga Tetradesmus obliquus less-studied unicellular species Myrmecia bisecta. Based on our findings, T. extracts had much more outstanding antioxidant potentials than those M. bisecta where IC50 values DPPH˙ ABTS˙+ were 16.18 23.35 µg.ml-1 vs. 20.21 26.05 bisecta, respectively. Interestingly, antibacterial activity extract against tested human pathogenic bacterial strains was powerful obliquus, i.e., 45.2% 25.3% inhibition 32.3% 14.20% Escherichia coli Staphylococcus aureus, Both microalgal showed significant cytotoxic effects HepG2 cell line with 36.44 40.12 for Also, both two WI-38 65.63 61.74 results, reasonable candidates future applications manufacturing.

Abstract Microalgae are considered promising sustainable sources of natural bioactive compounds to be used in biotechnological sectors.
