As global temperatures continue to rise, high summer severely affect crop growth, reducing yield and quality. The projections of annual declines in require more in-depth multidisciplinary studies on plant tolerance abiotic stresses. tomato is a major the Mediterranean region, its response heat stress has become important be addressed order identify those traits affecting tolerance. In this study, physiological genomic analyses were performed two heat-tolerant genotypes (LA3120 E42) grown at during entire life cycle. results showed that diversely affected gas exchange fluorescence parameters genotypes. particular, E42 regulated photosynthetic machinery under by modulating electron transport chain, whereas LA3120 was less applied stress. Genotyping data obtained from GBS (genotyping sequencing) analysis used explore genetic variability both with aim identifying candidate genes might regulate their response. These further deepen our understanding mechanisms activated allowed select key could breeding program thermotolerant

In this past decade, the bond between agriculture, food security, and climate change has become increasingly strong. Agriculture is recognized as one of most endangered systems adversely affected by human activities environmental issues. particular, abiotic stress limits quantity quality plant-based food. Heat stress, drought, salinity impact plants at all different life stages, inducing morphological physiological changes provoking a reduction in their nutritional value. Accordingly, low-quality results serious risk for health people worldwide. scenario, genetic biotechnological strategies have been investigated, including use New Plant Breeding Techniques (NBTs) plant cell cultures. review, we describe how stresses alter property availability nutritious addition, illustrate advanced techniques that could be employed to address these issues ameliorate agricultural practices

Abstract K + accumulation in plant tissues is a crucial factor for growth and development. The tomato high‐affinity transporter SlHAK5 essential root acquisition from low external concentrations. It also involved pollen fertility as slhak5 KO plants show rate of germination, impaired tube parthenocarpic fruits. Here, we present thorough analysis flowers, which showed relevant defects at the anatomic, ionomic, metabolomic transcriptomic levels. First, flowers exhibited shorter styles enlarged ovaries that, together with number seeds fruits X WT crosses, indicated an effect mutation on female fertility. Second, lower Ca 2+ , well several metabolites such amino acids, citric acid sugars, was observed mutant whereas indole‐3‐acetic content increased when compared to wild‐type. Third, RNAseq conducted pistils stamens wild‐type revealed that transport signalling pathways are significantly enriched gene expression analyses stamens. Thus, it can be concluded functional required maintain appropriate metabolite levels its absence leads important reductions both male

Abstract Developmental transitions require precise temporal and spatial control of gene expression. In plants, such regulation is critical for flower formation, which involves the progressive differentiation stem cell populations within floral meristems followed by rapid sequential development organs. Across plant taxa, these are orchestrated F-box transcriptional co-factor UNUSUAL FLORAL ORGANS ( UFO ). The conserved pleiotropic functions offer a useful framework investigating how evolutionary processes have shaped intricate cis- key developmental genes. By pinpointing promoter sequence in an accessible chromatin region tomato ortholog , we engineered vivo series regulatory alleles that caused both loss- gain-of-function defects. These mutant phenotypes were linked to disruptions predicted transcription factor binding sites known activators repressors. Allelic combinations revealed dosage-dependent interactions between opposing alleles, influencing penetrance expressivity phenotypes. phenotypic differences support robustness requires expression dosage. Bridging our analysis Arabidopsis found although homologous sequences dispersed promoter, they maintain similar over development. However, from disrupting differ due differing patterns . Our study underscores complex dynamic genes demonstrates short stretches recruit activating repressing machinery robustness.
