An investigation was carried out on blackgram to examine inheritance pattern of the traits viz., terminal leaflet shape, leaf vein colour, immature pod colour and pubescence. Five crosses CO 5 × VBN 9, 10, 6 10 11 were made for studying genetics traits. The qualitative examined in F1 plants, F2 population F3 progenies, a chi-square test performed assess their fit expected segregation ratio. In shape exhibited ratio 3:1 1:2:1 F3, with lanceolate being dominant over ovate shape. Purple pigmentation veins pods 9 co-segregated as monogenic trait. 11, hairy glabrous controlled by single gene. Thus, these pubescence, could serve useful morphological markers germplasm characterization confirming true hybrids recombination breeding programs.
