Introduction Although fertilizers play an important role in achieving high crop yields, improper nitrogen management and application measures have led to a series of ecological environmental problems. Optimizing fertilization practices agriculture is crucial for enhancing productivity while ensuring sustainable food production. Methods This study aims explore the effects different regimes on yield, soil physicochemical properties, microbial ecosystems. During maize planting process, five treatments were applied: no fertilizer (CK); conventional (U), with composite biochar (UB), urease/nitrification inhibitors (UI/NI), straw return (UST). Results The results indicate that yield under UI/NI treatment was higher than U treatment. community composition among had same dominant species, but relative abundance species varied depending treatment; UB enhanced bacterial populations soil, UST formation larger more complex networks communities. Discussion provides scientific theoretical support development promotion rational application.
