The purpose of this systematic literature review was to explore the current critiques and criticisms positive psychology provide a consolidated view main challenges facing third wave research. identified 32 records that posed 117 unique various areas discipline. These could be grouped into 21 categories through conventional content analysis, culminating in six overarching themes or 'broad criticisms/critiques'. findings suggested (a) lacked proper theorizing conceptual thinking, (b) problematic as far measurement methodologies were concerned, (c) seen pseudoscience evidence had poor replication, (d) novelty self-isolated itself from mainstream psychology, (e) decontextualized neoliberalist ideology caused harm, (f) capitalistic venture. Envisioning the future of positive psychology (PP) requires looking at its past. To that end, I first review prior critiques PP to underscore certain early problems have persisted over time. then selectively examine recent research illustrate progress in areas as well draw attention recurrent problems. Key among them is promulgation poorly constructed measures well-being and reliance on homogeneous, privileged samples. Another concern commercialization PP, which points need for greater oversight quality control profit-seeking endeavors. Looking ahead, advocate science tied contemporary challenges, particularly ever-widening inequality pandemic. These constitute intersecting catastrophes scientific attention. Abstract This paper reflects on the evolution of Positive Psychology (PP) during last 25 years, emphasizing its growth, influence, and widespread application in diverse contexts. Despite substantial growth a proliferation scholarship, PP faces criticism for not dedicating enough self-examination to how field might unknowingly perpetuate some societal injustices it purports help undo. While interventions rooted positive principles have demonstrated efficacy various settings, must be more intentional evaluating their alignment with inclusive equitable standards educate, cultivate, serve populations. Positive psychology has faced growing criticism regarding its scientific foundations and applied impact. To encourage constructive dialog, this study employs a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach to co-create potential ways address the critiques of positive psychology. By engaging psychological practitioners scholars, we investigate their perspectives on addressing discipline’s theoretical, methodological, practical challenges critically evaluate viability these solutions. Purposive sampling gathered data from 213 researchers practitioners. Participants were familiarized with main criticisms through participatory online workshop then engaged in small group discussions generate solutions such. Content analysis identified 16 themes 37 categories proposed While showed promise, some appear idealistic given academic realities.
