Sexually dimorphic – or feminine traits in women include a neotenous facial structure with large eyes, full lips, and an oval face shape, curvaceous body relatively breasts, narrow waist, hips buttocks. Compared to men, also show higher second-to-fourth finger (2D:4D) ratios as well less muscle mass lower physical strength. Due putative association oestrogen levels, are often claimed cue women’s reproductive potential. However, evidence for this purported relationship typically uses proxies rather than actual biological fitness. Here, we report systematic review of direct outcomes function morphological women. The comprised measures 2D:4D, voice pitch, upper-body strength from 14 samples, showed mixture null, positive, negative effects. Given how commonly such femininity, WHR, breast size signal fertility, it is noteworthy that were not able locate single study measuring fertility either those traits. Overall, our shows the current base too weak support claim fertility.

Colon cancer (CRC) is a prevalent malignancy that exhibits distinct differences in incidence, prognosis, and treatment responses between males females. These disparities have long been attributed to hormonal differences, particularly the influence of oestrogen signalling. This review aims provide comprehensive analysis recent advances our understanding molecular mechanisms underlying sex colon protective role membrane nuclear signalling CRC development, progression, therapeutic interventions. We discuss epidemiological evidence supporting cancer, followed by an exploration impact through various genomic nongenomic pathways involving receptors. Furthermore, we examine interplay receptors other pathways, particular Wnt/β-catenin proliferative pathway hypoxia shaping biological actions cancer. Lastly, highlight potential implications targeting management propose future research directions address current gaps this complex phenomenon.

ABSTRACT Identification of the dead is utmost importance in mass disasters, war crimes, and forensic examinations. The biological profile, established by a anthropologist one necessary steps involved identification dead. Several parameters can be estimated such as sex, age, stature, biogeographical affinity, DNA profile unknown person. It crucial to estimate these which may narrow down investigation process. On other hand, Artificial Intelligence (AI) modern world showing magical uses different fields. This communication aims highlight AI tools for predicting persons with more accuracy less time. A literature search was conducted using databases PubMed, Scopus, Web Science, ScienceDirect analyzing use artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning algorithms establishing disaster victim (DVI) casework. Moreover, this research foresees paradigm shift investigative techniques technology advances, highlighting convergence anthropological ideas an improved understanding profiles deceased individuals.

Fitness has been dominantly defined in terms of physical conditioning components. Under such definition, males tend to outperform females strength, speed, aerobic or anaerobic capacity when compared at the same age and training status. However, have a higher life expectancy, which humans is related biological fitness. Using paradox sex differences fitness-where fitness but do not expectancy-the aim this opinion paper (a) highlight multidimensionality fitness, (b) redefine health-related drawing on key goals biology: adaptability survival. The redefinition as "adaptive ability foster survival possibilities" encompasses synergies across physical, mental, psychological, emotional, social subjective dimensions, while embracing diversity human characteristics, including sex, gender, age, somatotype, vital state, disability, disease wellbeing, among others.

The global incidence and prevalence of cardiometabolic disorders have risen significantly in recent years. Although lifestyle choices adulthood play a crucial role the development these conditions, it is well established that events occurring early life can an important effect. Recent research on diseases has highlighted influence sexual dimorphism risk factors, underlying mechanisms, response to therapies. In this narrative review, we summarize current understanding cardiovascular metabolic general population within framework Developmental Origins Health Disease (DOHaD) concept. We explore key factors including genetic epigenetic placental embryonic development, maternal nutrition, sex hormones, energy metabolism, microbiota, oxidative stress, cell death, inflammation, endothelial dysfunction, circadian rhythm, factors. Finally, discuss some main therapeutic approaches, responses which may be influenced by dimorphism, such as antihypertensive treatments, stress management, therapies, hormone replacement therapy.

The estimation of biological sex is paramount relevance in the analysis skeletal remains recovered forensic contexts. This study aims to assess sexual dimorphism for identification purposes, from two reference samples Portuguese population, and a depiction size- shape-related human scapula using geometric morphometrics approaches. sample comprised 211 individuals (100 males 111 females). A generalized Procrustes (GPA) was performed shape analyses, principal component (PCA) ANOVA were implemented on GPA transformed variables, discriminant used cross-validated accuracy estimates. data showed that male scapulae larger, with medial lateral curves more pronounced an inferior angle acute than females. females classified low (66.82% 65.88% landmarks semi-landmarks data) based shape. Combining size variables improved prediction (80.09%). combination both might improve chances methodology correctly estimating unidentified individuals, especially if elements show dimorphism.

Abstract Men with distinct facial hair are perceived as more aggressive, dominant, older, and formidable, mostly by other men. However, despite considerable interest in the social perception of beardedness, only a few studies have explored men’s preferences toward hair. We investigated whether their judgments appropriateness situations depended on actual beardedness type interaction ( N = 509; age: M 29.35, SD 7.24). preferred having hair, particularly when they heavy stubble or full beard. for themselves compared to men, suggesting that could be based frequency-dependent value display, namely assigned rarer attributes. Men’s were sensitive displaying well. More was considered appropriate informal situations, especially another man. Social norms associated formal could, therefore, limit impression management functions beards intrasexual competition.
