Abstract Objective Many studies have explored the relationship between childhood trauma and internet addiction from different theoretical perspectives; however, results been inconsistent. The purpose of this meta-analysis was to examine addiction. Methods PubMed, Web Science, Embase, CNKI, Wanfang VIP electronic databases were searched identify examining correlation adolescent inception December 31, 2022. Two researchers independently screened literature, extracted data, evaluated risk bias included studies. Then, Stata 17.0 software used perform meta-analysis. Results This study registered on PROSPERO (CRD42023388699). A total 19 involving 21,398 adolescents in random effects model for pooled analysis, revealed a strong positive association ( r = 0.395, 95% CI [0.345, 0.442]). moderated by sample size, survey area, measurement tools. There significant differences associations based various child tools quality scores. However, interstudy heterogeneity not significantly affected year, source, or participant age. Conclusion Internet is positively correlated with trauma. Therefore, it extremely important parents provide good growth environment during enhance physical mental development adolescents. warm family atmosphere helps individuals develop healthy personality, thereby reducing preventing occurrence Due limited number low studies, above conclusions need be verified additional high-quality

Traumatic experiences (TEs) are a risk factor for behavioral and substance addictions (SBAs). However, the role of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) complex PTSD (cPTSD) deserves further elucidation. The present study assesses association between different types TEs on cannabis, alcohol, gambling, problematic internet use in late adolescents. Furthermore, this aims at evaluating cPTSD as potential mediators. An observational cross-sectional was conducted one thousand ten adolescents (510 males, 498 females; age: mean = 18.7, SD 0.65). Data regarding intentional (iTEs) unintentional (uTEs), gambling (PIU), PTSD, were collected. Association TEs, SBAs, PTSD/cPTSD symptoms explored by means logistic regressions. Mediation assessed using path analysis. uTEs associated with cannabis (OR 1.34 [1.13,1.59]) alcohol 1.21 [1.10,1.35]), iTEs 1.15 [1.06,1.25]), 1.08 [1.02,1.13]), PIU 1.17 [1.10,1.24]). 1.59 [1.03,2.46]) 1.92 [1.18,3.13]). 3.54 [1.56,8.04]) 5.13 [2.71,9.70]). mediated 58.75% total effect cannabis. Regarding PIU, 68.18% uTEs; 65.5% via 34.45% PTSD. SBAs show pattern association. A thorough assessment stress-related conditions, including cPTSD, is pivotal importance treating SBAs.

Internet addiction (IA) is a growing health concern, especially among young adults. Adverse childhood experiences (ACE) have emerged as an important risk factor associated with IA. However, the relationship between IA and ACE remains understudied in India. The present study aims to explore association of cumulative domain-wise exposure adults Delhi-NCR, cross-sectional was conducted 285 (aged 18-25 years) either sex (64.2% females) residing were screened using YIAT ACE-IQ, respectively. Differences prevalence median scores across different levels examined. Chi-square Kruskal–Wallis tests used these differences. Binary logistic regression compute odds ratio (OR). increased increasing from 0 ≥4 categories.
