Objectives This study aimed to inquire into the subjective experiences and meaning-making of change people diagnosed with avoidant personality disorder (AvPD) after attending a treatment program developed for AvPD. Methods Eighteen AvPD patients were interviewed 1 year completing their using semi-structured interview guide. The interviews analyzed through reflexive thematic analysis. Results Three main themes found capture various change. first theme “being more alive” included subthemes “talking listening together” “opening up grounding myself.” second was “still longing more,” third “I cannot even manage therapy” “as if we “capitulation.” Conclusion Although these findings may not be specific AvPD, they shed light on importance dynamic interplay intersubjectivity, social motivations, agency in therapeutic context. Discovering sense within an interpersonal context which patient feels connected lead them opening development accordance motivational intentions.
