Background This study seeks to assess the impact of traditional Chinese exercises (Tai Chi, Baduanjin, Yijinjing, Wuqinxi, and Liuzijue) on cognitive function in older adults through a systematic review meta-analysis. It examines their effects global performance, as well specific domains, providing robust evidence support enhancement elderly. Methods A thorough search was executed across eight key databases, including PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, EBSCO, Web Science, Wanfang Data, Science Technology Journal Database, China National Knowledge Infrastructure. The quality studies that met inclusion criteria assessed using Collaboration tool for evaluating risk bias. Data synthesis performed Review Manager 5.4, where pooled intervention outcomes were expressed mean differences (MD) alongside 95% confidence intervals (CI). Additional sub-group analysis conducted explore potential factors contributing heterogeneity. Results meta-analysis evaluated data from 29 randomized controlled trials, encompassing total 2,489 participants. results demonstrate substantially improve language abilities (Category Verbal Fluency: MD = 0.90, CI: 0.38 1.41), executive (TMT B: −13.70, −16.06 −11.35), short-term memory (MD 0.85, 0.42 1.29), long-term delayed recall 1.39, 0.72 2.06). Sub-group indicated baseline plays critical role determining effectiveness intervention. Patients with impairment derive significantly greater benefits exercise interventions than those normal function. Conclusion found can enhance elderly, particularly mild impairment. differed various indicating when utilizing an intervention, it is crucial consider status patient design precisely tailored strategies. In recent years, mobile phone addiction (MPA) has emerged as a significant public health concern, particularly among university students. Physical activity (PA) is believed to exert beneficial influence on MPA within this demographic. However, the extent which moderated by other factors remains uncertain. Evidence points self-control and resilience potential mediators that may partially account for positive impact of PA MPA. Accordingly, study seeks investigate effect mediating role in relationship through chain-mediated model. The involved 413 Chinese students (208 males, mean age 20.59 ± 1.17 years), who completed Rating Scale (PARS-3), Connor-Davidson Resilience (CD-RISC), Self-Control (SCS), Mobile Phone Addiction Index (MPAI), along with psychosocial assessments. Pearson's correlation was employed analyze relationships between variables, while mediation models were examined using SPSS PROCESS bootstrapped regression analysis. demonstrated negative behaviors (β = -0.22, p < 0.01). Self-control addiction. Notably, influenced effects resilience. College can alleviate issues consistently engaging healthy PA, essential enhancing bolstering

Previous studies have suggested a significant association between mobile phone addiction (MPA) and non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI) in general adolescents. However, limited research has analyzed this relationship clinical populations, such as those with major depressive disorder (MDD), the potential mediation mechanisms remain unclear. This cross-sectional observational study data from 2343 adolescents MDD (77.9% females; mean age = 14.99 years, SD 1.65). Using models, we explored roles of self-esteem depression severity (measured by Patient Health Questionnaire-9) MPA NSSI. Additionally, evaluated associations existing school-implemented usage policies levels MPA, self-esteem, symptoms, was significantly associated NSSI, low increased almost entirely mediating effect (log-odds 0.016, 95%CI 0.02–0.013). Subdomains including inability to control craving, feelings anxiety, productivity loss, followed similar while subdomain withdrawal/escape had partial mediated severity. enforced restrictions on schools did not show positive effects related variables even exacerbated increasing cravings reducing productivity. Our suggests that may be an important risk factor for NSSI occurrence, negative impact rather than simply restricting usage, crucial effective intervention.

Problematic mobile phone use has become a pressing concern among adolescents due to its widespread prevalence and associated health risks. Physical exercise been suggested as potential intervention, but the psychological mechanisms underlying effects remain unclear. This study explores how physical impacts problematic through expression suppression, emotional problems (depression anxiety), resilience, offering actionable insights for intervention strategies. The involved 2,032 Chinese who completed standardized self-report questionnaires assessing exercise, problems, use. Statistical analyses were conducted using moderated serial mediation model. Among participants, 25.5% reported use, while 37.5% experienced both depression anxiety. was negatively with (β = -0.195, p < 0.001) on expressive depression, Indirect mediated by suppression depression/anxiety accounted 52.0% 44.4% of total effect, respectively. Additionally, resilience pathway linking anxiety (interaction effect depression: β -0.080, 95% CI: -0.111 -0.048; anxiety: -0.065, -0.097 -0.033), low amplifying negative suppression. can directly reduce indirectly alleviate risks improving emotion regulation reducing problems. Expressive play significant mediating roles, moderates these pathways, highlighting protective effect. By targeting behavioral factors, interventions that combine activity promotion training show promise in addressing issues adolescents.
