Background

Previous
studies
have
suggested
a
significant
association
between
mobile
phone
addiction
(MPA)
and
non-suicidal
self-injury
(NSSI)
in
general
adolescents.
However,
limited
research
has
analyzed
this
relationship
clinical
populations,
such
as
those
with
major
depressive
disorder
(MDD),
the
potential
mediation
mechanisms
remain
unclear.
This
cross-sectional
observational
study
data
from
2343
adolescents
MDD
(77.9%
females;
mean
age
=
14.99
years,

we
explored
roles
of
self-esteem
depression
severity
(measured
by
Patient
Health
Questionnaire-9)
MPA
NSSI.
