What Drives Generation Z to Avoid Food Waste in China? An Empirical Investigation

Avoiding
food
waste
has
become
an
important
global
issue.
Given
the
impact
of
and
profound
influence
Generation
Z
on
future
development,
it
is
crucial
to
guide
them
in
cultivating
awareness
behaviors

waste,
thereby
promoting
sustainable
development.
Considering
young
consumers’
specific
characteristics
consumption
environment,
this
study
extended
Theory
Planned
Behavior
(TPB)
framework
by
adding
two
constructs
moral
self-identity
scarcity
mindset.
An
online
survey
was
conducted,
receiving
417
valid
responses,
data
were
analyzed
using
structural
equation
modeling.
This
shows
that
subjective
norms,
attitudes,
perceived
behavioral
control
positively
Z’s
intentions
avoid
waste.
Meanwhile,
remarkably
influences
attitudes
control,
which
turn
affects
intention
Moreover,
positive
moderating
role
mindset
verified.

ABSTRACT
The
cosmetic
industry
faces
rising
demands
for
sustainability,
with
consumers
in
both
developed
and
developing
countries
increasingly
seeking
eco‐friendly
ethically
produced
products.
This
study
examines
the
influence
of
green
advertising
on
consumer
wisdom
its
impact
brand
equity
within
cosmetics
sectors
Pakistan
China.
By
analyzing
data
from
1006
992
China
through
a
structured
survey,
research
using
PLS
software
finds
that
significantly
enhances
various
facets
wisdom,
boosting
contexts.
However,
flexibility
sustainability
component
which
reflects
willingness
to
adopt
sustainable
consumption
practices,
does
not
mediate
this
relationship
either
country.
These
results
highlight
while
improves
perceptions
equity,
it
always
translate
into
behavioural
changes.

Improving

behaviors

strategy

organizations
due
to
its
significant
impact
on
organizational
reputation,
competitiveness,

a

understanding
how
managers
perceive
innovation
practices
in
emerging
economies.
Therefore,
this
study
examines
whether
are
motivated,
or
deem
it
ethical
responsibility,
have
social
pressure,

behavioral
strategic
control
moderates
these
relationships.

Chinese
firms,
our
results
indicate
that
top
management
motivation,

we
explore
the
extent
to
which
individualistic
and
collectivist
national
cultural
orientations
are
essential
for
green
innovation.
