Abstract Objective To investigate the impact of music on patient tolerance during office‐based laryngeal surgery (OBLS). Methods All patients undergoing OBLS between February 2024 to June were invited participate in this study. They divided into two subgroups, those with background and without. Following surgery, all asked fill IOWA score VAS for discomfort ranging from 0 10, indicating no 10 maximum discomfort. Results A total 87 95 surgeries (OBLS) included, a mean age 54.7 years male‐to‐female ratio 1.5. The most common procedure was blue laser therapy (45.3%), followed by vocal fold injection (29.5%). 2.02. Patients who listened showed significantly higher compared without (2.48 vs. 1.55; p < .001). Significant differences persisted when stratified type. Additionally, lower (2.27 4.21; = .001), significant difference noted ( .004). Conclusion results investigation indicate that has positive effect procedural OBLS. Participants underwent had less than background. Music can be used as safe nonpharmacologic modality reduce stress improve awake Level Evidence 2.

Rationale Music therapy has been in practice for years. However, the mechanism of action music or is not well understood. It only recently that neuroendocrinological basis therapeutic relationships become subject growing research interest. The aim this pilot study (Clinical Trial No: DRKS00035174) to investigate whether oxytocin usable and feasible as a biomarker attachment demonstrate development alliance between therapist patient dyadic setting. Methods In single-measure crossover design, children aged 6–12 years from special school social emotional disorders, were randomly with either followed by waiting list control group performed silent work, vice versa. respective interventions conducted on premises different days over period 1 month. primary outcome was salivary oxytocin, tests immediately before after each 30-min intervention. Results Thirty-two included study, resulting n = 16 per allocation sequence. During implementation difficulties encountered protocol adherence both terms duration work group. There no dropouts, however, 28 final data analysis two participants excluded due large fluctuations levels. Between-group comparison within-group comparisons showed significant changes increase levels measurement. No side effects adverse events reported during trial. Conclusion findings indicated responsiveness musical stimulation. Although feasibility measurement clearly demonstrated, evaluation results difficult against background many remaining questions regarding individual contextual factors influencing oxytocinergic system. Moreover, clinical significance remains topic further better understand role formation therapy.

Music, a universal element in human societies, possesses profound ability to evoke emotions and influence mood. This systematic review explores the utilization of music allow self-control brain activity its implications clinical neuroscience. Focusing on music-based neurofeedback studies, it methodological aspects findings propose future directions. Three key questions are addressed: rationale behind using as stimulus, integration into feedback loop, outcomes such interventions. While studies emphasize emotional link between activity, mechanistic explanations lacking. Additionally, there is no consensus imaging or behavioral measures success. The suggests considering whole-brain neural correlates stimuli their interaction with target networks reward mechanisms when designing music-neurofeedback studies. Ultimately, this aims serve valuable resource for researchers, facilitating deeper understanding music's role guiding investigations.

Abstract Objectives Music festivals are often a source of joy, but also risk injury. While previous studies suggest music can relieve pain, its effect has not been tested in festival settings, nor the high-energy vs soothing compared. We hypothesized that guests at heavy metal would experience less pain when listening to thrash compared relaxing music, with being influenced by preference and increased higher alcohol intake. Methods This factorial randomized non-blinded crossover trial assessed during 5°C cold pressor test (CPT) festival. Participants were listen either Slayer’s “Raining Blood” or Enya’s “Orinoco Flow” their first CPT, opposite song second CPT. The primary outcome was as area under curve (AUC). fondness breath concentration (BrAC) measured before each Results Forty-five adults, aged 19–58 years, included, completed both CPTs. Significantly more reported while Enya (AUC 1,155 [IQR 588–1,507]) Slayer 975 682–1,492]) ( p = 0.048). Higher BrAC associated decreased 0.042). experienced significantly than those who liked 0.021). Fondness had no on perception 0.7). Conclusion Listening metal, specifically painful stimuli results lower intensity form Enya. findings’ impact clinical setting should be explored.
