Loneliness and Social Isolation in Individuals with Acute Myocardial Infarction and Takotsubo Syndrome: A Scoping Review

Background/Objectives:
Loneliness
and
social
isolation
are
considered
significant
determinants
of
myocardial
infarction
(MI)
or
Takotsubo
syndrome
(TS).
However,
research
on
these
factors
in
MI
populations
is
highly
heterogeneous,
evidence
regarding
TS
sparse.
The
present
scoping
review
aimed
at
mapping
the
extent
breadth
literature
loneliness
individuals
with
TS.
Methods:
Following
PRISMA-ScR
guidelines
JBI
methodology,
we
conducted
a
systematic
search
PubMed,
Web
Science,
EBSCO/PsycINFO,
supplemented
by
manual
search,
for
studies
published
up
to
25
June
2024.
Primary
and/or

current
range
of
labeling
terms-at-risk
mental
state
(ARMS),
ultra-high
risk
for
psychosis
(UHR),
and
attenuated
psychotic
syndrome
(APS)-used
to
refer
the
psychosis-risk
concept
