Abstract
Background
Difficulties
in
controlling
emotions
–
a
proxy
for
emotion
dysregulation
(ED)
-

difficulties

feelings

Although
Ecological
Momentary
Assessment
(EMA)

provide
a
valuable
opportunity
to
evaluate
therapeutic
interventions
in
real
time,
no
study
has
used
this
approach
assess
Dialectical
Behavior
Therapy
(DBT)
autistic
adults
with
high
levels
of
emotion
dysregulation
(ED).
In
study,
26
were
evaluated
before
after
participating
standard
5-month
DBT
program,
using
(EMA).
The
EMA
included:
(1)
twelve
evaluations
per
day
over
7-day
period,
measuring
alexithymia,
emotional
states,
subjective
arousal
control;
(2)
continuous
monitoring
wristband
record
heart-rate
(HR),
variability
(HRV)
skin
conductance
(SCL).
Following
DBT,
significant
differences
found

negative
emotions

conflicting
emotions,

increased
rates

Background
Emotion
dysregulation
(ED)
is
a
core
symptom
of
borderline
personality
disorder
(BPD),
whose
aetiology

attributed

biosocial
factors.

spectrum

prevalent
and
associated
with
decreased
well-being
(e.g.
self-harm,
suicidality),
it
understudied,
especially
in
adults.
