Background/Objectives: This study assessed the effectiveness of a school-based suicide prevention program in Hong Kong. Methods: 105 secondary school students aged 14–16, identified as having high levels depression and suicidal ideation. Participants were divided into three intervention groups: one for adolescents only, another with peers, third parental involvement. All groups engaged weekly online exercises. Repeated measures ANOVA was used to analyze within-group between-group differences adolescents’ ideation, anxiety. Results: The results indicated statistically significant reduction anxiety after participation all groups. No identified, meaning effects interventions on measured outcomes similar. Conclusions: demonstrates promise implementing programs Kong context.

Suicide is a public health problem worldwide, especially among adolescents. Chile one of the Latin American countries with highest suicide rates; however, few studies have investigated risk factors for attempts in this specific population. We aimed to describe suicidal behaviour Chilean adolescents and explore associated reattempts Adolescents (10-19 years) diagnosis psychiatric disorders were recruited Maule region, Chile, between 2018 2021. Sociodemographic clinical variables collected. Logistic regression was performed association these attempts. Factors increased odds included age, sexual orientation, Adverse Childhood Events (ACEs) past current symptomatology. that decreased previous psychotherapy or pharmacological treatment, responsiveness warmth from mother father. Active symptoms at time assessment reattempting suicide. In our sample, trauma-related emerged as most important predicting Although orientation family dysfunction also played notable role, positive relationships parents seemed be protective. addition, stress, anxiety depression significantly likelihood reattempts. These findings provide valuable knowledge about suicidality although further research needed expand evidence media.

Progress in research on the neurobiology of suicide behavior adolescents has notably lagged compared to that adults. This study aimed investigate associations between serum indicators, including oxidative stress (OS) and inflammatory psychological factors with attempts (SA) major depressive disorder (MDD) while also exploring potential markers. involved assessment 106 first-time hospitalized aged 12 18 MDD measurement indicators. Participants were categorized into two groups according their history SA within preceding six months. Screening best markers for by machine learning algorithms. Multivariable logistic regression was used assess correlation these indicators suicide. Secondly, Mendelian randomization (MR) initially explore causal relationship In diagnosed MDD, those who had attempted exhibited elevated superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity, reduced nitric oxide (NO) levels, more severe anxiety symptoms, worse sleep quality, increased exposure adverse life events, less effective coping strategies, parental attachment, alexithymia, impulsivity when counterparts without a (all p<0.05). The multivariable analyses showed significant association SOD activity (OR 1.254, 95% CI 1.043-1.534) symptoms 1.056, 1.020-1.097) MDD. MR genetically determined low uric acid (UA) levels higher risk 0.942 95%CI 0.896-0.991). Serum UA may be intent
