The global use of pesticides is increasing; however, few studies have examined the exposure current-use pesticide in Inuit populations. Some current are also capable long-range transport, potentially increasing exposures to northern study aim was analyse (chlorophenoxy, organophosphates, and pyrethroid pesticide) biomarker levels pooled samples from an population Nunavik, Quebec. Thirty Qanuilirpitaa? 2017 survey (Q2017) individuals aged 16-80 years were included. Creatinine-adjusted arithmetic (AM) compared by sex, age, region sub-groups, geometric mean concentrations (GM) those Canadian Health Measures Survey (CHMS). Most analysed biomarkers detected, PNP (a metabolite methyl ethyl parathion), trans-DCCA pyrethroids), 3,5,6-TCP chlorpyrifos) had highest concentrations. Concentrations Q2017 largely similar or less than CHMS Although not significant, there a general increase 2,4-D chlorophenoxy biomarker), 3,5,6-TCP, 3-PBA with age. somewhat higher females versus males, but these significant. Environmental detected Nunavik population. Regular monitoring recommended given pesticides.

Due to their antibacterial and antifungal properties, parabens are commonly used as biocides preservatives in food, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals. Parabens have been reported exist various water matrices at low concentrations, which renders the need for sample preparation before quantification using analytical techniques. Thus, methods such solid-phase extraction (SPE), rotating-disk sorptive (RDSE), vortex-assisted dispersive liquid-liquid (VA-DLLE) that preconcentration discussed. As a result of methods, techniques now detect trace levels ranging from µg/L ng/L. These compounds detected water, air, soil, human tissues. While full impact on health ecosystems is still being debated scientific community, it widely recognized can act endocrine disruptors. Furthermore, some studies suggested may carcinogenic effects. The presence environment primarily due wastewater discharges, widespread contamination concentrations increased during COVID-19 pandemic waves. Neglecting exposes humans these through contaminated food drinking water. Although there reviews focus occurrence, fate, behavior environment, they frequently overlook critical aspects removal policy development, regulatory frameworks. Addressing this gap, effective treatment relies combined approaches address both cost operational challenges. Membrane filtration nanofiltration (NF) reverse osmosis (RO), demonstrate high efficacy but hindered by maintenance energy costs extensive fouling. Innovations anti-fouling efficiency, coupled with pre-treatment like adsorption, help mitigate enhance scalability. combining adsorption advanced oxidation processes (AOPs) or biological treatments significantly improves economic efficiency. Integrating systems O₃/UV activated carbon, along byproduct recovery strategies, further advances circular economy goals minimizing waste resource use. This review provides thorough overview paraben monitoring wastewater, current techniques, policies govern presence. perspectives future investigations shaping aimed mitigating risks
