Career adaptability and graduates’ mental health: the mediating role of occupational future time perspective in higher education in China

This
study
examines
the
mediating
role
of
Occupational
Future
Time
Perspective
(OFTP)
in
relationship
between
Career
Adaptability
and
Mental
Health
among
college
graduates.
Using
a
three-month,
three-time-point
survey
Chinese
graduates
(N
=
905,
ages
25–30),
we
found
that
has
significant
direct
effect
on
Health.
Among
OFTP
dimensions,
Focus
Opportunities
emerged
as
key
mediator,
highlighting
its
linking
to
positive
mental
health
outcomes.
However,
Perceived
Remaining
Limitations
did
not
show
mediation
effects.
These
findings
underscore
value
fostering
opportunity-focused
perspectives
career
counseling
educational
interventions
support
graduates'
health.

multi-regional

gaps

existing

global
scope

widespread
impact,

under-researched
dimension

to
general
effects,

integration
data.

data
from
1970
2020,
we
found
strong
correlation
between
change
rising
disorders
globally.
Regional
patterns
emerged,
with
Oceania
showing
broader
associations

issues,
while
Europe
Americas
saw
increases
anxiety
depression.
