ABSTRACT Despite significant advancements, disparities in access to financial services persist across developing nations. The Covid‐19 pandemic has significantly influenced the adoption of digital finance, particularly West African Economic and Monetary Union countries. Using World Bank Global Findex data (2017 2021), this study employs heteroscedastic binary choice difference‐in‐differences methodologies evaluate impact finance on inclusion, considering factors such as gender, age, income, location pandemic. findings indicate that while overall inclusion experienced a decline, increased mitigated trend, suggesting importance system interoperability.

This article analyzes whether the Chinese insurance market is showing different responses to COVID-19 shocks depending on domestic cultural characteristics by using monthly panel data of 31 provinces from January August 2020 and employing fixed-effects model. Overall, results indicate that pandemic negatively associated with consumption in China. In particular, outbreak leads worse development (proxied premium income) those strong traditional Confucius culture (measured number Confucian academies). significantly affects life insurance’s negative response COVID-19. contrast, its influence non-life relatively lower. because more sensitive mortality risk caused spread than insurance. we provide insights into role development.
