Background Green and blue spaces, as crucial components of urban ecosystems, significantly impact the physical mental health residents. However, mechanisms through which Green/Blue Space Justice influence residents’ remain unclear. Methods This study aims to explore green spaces on public psychological responses, activity, from a justice perspective, examine moderating role in this relationship. The research was conducted selected communities within Chang-Zhu-Tan agglomeration Hunan Province, China. A total 801 valid questionnaires were collected field visits online surveys. uses an improved Gaussian-based two-step floating catchment area (2SFCA) method assess space accessibility. Data analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM) moderation effect analysis reveal relationships between variables. Results findings indicate that has significant positive health; responses activity play mediating roles affects chain mediation path involving activity. Moreover, Blue moderates but does not have direct health. Conclusion enriches theory by revealing it influences via It provides scientific basis for development healthy cities. Additionally, recommends planning should prioritize equitable distribution high accessibility both comprehensively enhance well-being. Policymakers consider prioritizing high-quality vulnerable during renewal expansion processes reduce social inequalities promote broader outcomes.
