There is a proliferation of learning analytics (LA) dashboards aimed at supporting teachers. Yet, teachers still find it challenging to make sense LA dashboards, thereby making informed decisions. Two main strategies address this are emerging: i) upskilling teachers' data literacy; ii) improving the explanatory design features current (e.g., adding visual cues or text) minimise skills required by effectively use dashboards. While each approach has its own trade-offs, no previous work explored interplay between dashboard and such "data skills". In paper, we explore how with varying visualisation literacy (VL) enhanced (explanatory) storytelling elements. We conducted quasi-experimental study 23 varied VL inspecting two versions an authentic multichannel used eye-tracking device while inspected students' captured from Zoom Google Docs, followed interviews. Results suggest that high adopted complex exploratory were more sensitive subtle inconsistencies in design; low benefited most explicit guidance as accompanying graphs narrative semantic colour encoding.

Abstract Online learning has become increasingly important, having in mind the latest events, imposed isolation measures and closed schools campuses. Consequently, teachers students need to embrace digital tools platforms, bridge newly established physical gap between them, consume education various new ways. Although literature indicates that development of intelligent techniques must be incorporated e-learning systems make them more effective, exists for research on how these impact whole process online learning, they affect learners’ performance. This paper aims provide comprehensive innovations e-learning, present a review used explore their potential benefits. presents categorization techniques, explores roles environments. By summarizing state art area, authors outline past research, highlight its gaps, indicate important implications practice. The goal is understand better available implementation application context, improving education. Finally, concludes AI-supported solutions not only can support learner teacher, by recommending resources grading submissions, but offer fully personalized experience.

Abstract Since schools increasingly use digital platforms that provide educational data in formats, teacher use, and literacy have become a focus of research. One main challenge is whether teachers for pedagogical purposes, such as informing their teaching. We conducted survey study with N = 1059 upper secondary Switzerland to investigate related factors the available technologies schools. Descriptive analysis responses indicated although more than half Swiss upper-secondary agreed having at disposal, only one-third showed clear tendency these technologies, one-quarter felt positively confident improving teaching this way. An in-depth multilevel modeling teachers’ could be predicted by differences between schools, positive beliefs towards (will), self-assessed (skill), access (tool) well general frequency using devices lessons students. Teacher characteristics, age experience, were minor predictors. These results show provision needs supplemented efforts strengthen

Abstract Over the years, personalisation in e‐learning has evolved as a promising paradigm for matching learners' specific requirements. Although many literature reviews on personalised have been conducted, there are still voids and limitations comprehensive survey regarding how might occur environments benefit teaching learning process. In addition, no design guidelines, frameworks, or tools to guide its implementation exist, so practice can vary widely. The principal purpose of this review is examine subject, provide insights into use techniques systems e‐learning, investigate impact engagement success students. This study applies methods precise selection criteria determine which selected publications strongest interconnection relevance with topic personalisation. It also categorises employed by each identified system highlights new perspectives advances area.

Abstract Background Driven by the ongoing need to provide high‐quality learning and teaching, universities recently have shown an increased interest in using analytics (LA) for improving design (LD). However, evidence of such improvements is scarce, maturity research unclear. Objectives This study aimed evaluate discussing LA‐driven LD higher education. Methods The systematic review analyses 49 empirical papers, assesses their quality suggests further directions. elaborates on methodological (research questions, strategy methods, LA‐LD integration theoretical backgrounds) substantial (LA‐driven improvements, types data used, LA software development) features papers. Results Conclusions findings demonstrated lack alignment between LD, with tending towards user experience studies. most frequently used was a case study; experiments were very rare. Researchers predominantly parsing collecting AI methods analysing it; mostly related registering learners' engagement activities as well resources tools provided digital environments. Learning analytics (LA) holds a promise to transform education by utilizing data for evidence-based decision-making. Yet, its application in early childhood (ECE) remains relatively under-explored. ECE plays crucial role fostering fundamental numeracy and literacy skills. While standardized tests was intended be used monitor student progress, they have been increasingly assumed summative high-stake due the substantial impact. The pressures succeeding such well-documented negatively affect both students teachers. Attempting ease stress better support teachers, current study delved into LA potential predicting test performance using formative assessments. Beyond predictive accuracy, addressed ethical considerations related fairness uncover risks associated with adoption. Our findings revealed promising opportunity empower teachers schools more time room help prepared based on predictions obtained earlier before tests. Notably, bias can significantly observed disabilities even same actual competence compared without disabilities. In addition, we noticed that inclusion of demographic attribute had no significant impact not necessarily exacerbate overall bias, but may received certain subgroups (e.g., different types disability).
