Background Digitalization is a critical driver of economic growth and innovation. Reducing disparities in digital development essential for ensuring inclusive sustainable progress across nations. This study explores convergence among the top five ASEAN economies—Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Brunei—by focusing on two key indicators: internet usage fixed broadband subscriptions. The goal to determine whether are narrowing or widening over time, assessed through sigma beta convergence. Methods analysis uses panel data spanning 1995 2022 2003 Sigma examines reduction while tests less digitally advanced countries catching up with more ones. Results findings indicate both subscriptions, suggesting that these nations becoming similar their development. However, shows mixed results. While there evidence usage, implying up, subscriptions exhibit divergence, indicating access. The digital economy plays an increasingly crucial role in bridging the gap between urban and rural areas.
