Green carbon-based materials (GCM), i.e., carbon produced using renewable biomass or recycled waste, ought to be used make processes sustainable and carbon-neutral. Carbon nanomaterials, like dots the nanobichar families, materials, activated biochar substances, are with great potential in different technological applications. In this review, following four applications were selected, works published last two years (since 2022) critically reviewed: agriculture, water treatment, energy management, dioxide reduction sequestration. Chemical fertilizers (CFs) are indispensable nutrients source for plants replenishing them with essential nutrients. However, their over-utilization imposed destructive consequences of excessive loss major resulting in low nutrient use efficiency and further environmental concerns. Therefore, to counter application CFs regulate sustainable agriculture, a novel biochar (BC)-based slow-release fertilizer (SRF) was developed by incorporating mica (MI) semi-interpenetrating chitosan polymer (Semi-IPN) via graft co-polymerization. Fabricated SRFs were characterized release dynamics as well soil water holding (WH) retention (WR) capacity investigated. The results revealed that BC-based SRFs, particularly BC-SRF BCMI-SRF, enhanced WH 40.61% 47.80%, respectively, whereas the highest WR recorded 32.55% 35.52% after 30 days. (NH4+-N, P, K) ratio CF MI range 85–100%, however BC incorporated showed splendid slow 75.53% NH4+-N, 65.66% P 71.83% K days incubation experiment. Nutrient kinetics exhibited diffusion mass transport mechanisms, which confirmed best fitted parabolic first order models. Hence, current study inclusively demonstrated new routes synthesis innovative eco-friendly substantial performance overcome CF.

This literature review focuses on the drivers of Integrated Crop-Livestock-Forestry Systems (ICLFS) adoption by small farmers. It has enabled us to identify current trends and analyze various knowledge gaps. According PRISMA protocol, 1,352 scientific publications have been selected analyzed after a Scopus database search. Data analysis was carried out in two steps. A systematic performed with metadata using Biblioshiny package R 4.3.1 software. Then, 42 most relevant were used for brief narrative synthesis.
