Introduction The presence of excessive heavy metal content in food poses potential risks to human health. Methods This paper presents the fabrication a novel type Carbon Dots (CDs) using green tea residue as carbon source, which can be applied for simultaneous detection Hg 2+ , Pb Fe 3+ and Cu2 through particle swarm optimization (PSO) based optimized variable-weighted least-squares support vector machine (VWLS-SVM) model partial least squares discriminant analysis (PLSDA) method. Results Discussion utilization PSO-VWLS-SVM discovered verified two fluorescence enhancement markers CDs, namely isoquercitrin 5-methyl furfural residues. By employing PLSDA, qualitative quantitative determination these four ions was achieved. These CDs are capable detecting types at low concentrations even when there high other amino acids. More importantly, were successfully Cu real samples. recovery rates spiked into five different matrices found range 99.1–101.3%, while both intra-day inter-day relative standard deviations remained below 0.5% all study on chemometrics-assisted exploration formation mechanisms endogenous provides theoretical guidance enhancing their properties expanding application food.

Research into the antioxidant efficacy and sustainability implications of tea waste, a by-product rapidly growing global beverage industry, is increasingly necessary. This study scrutinized samples taken from various factories to explore their capacity for free radical scavenging potential public health environmental benefits. Analysis reference (BHT) revealed notable dose- dependent rise in free-radical-scavenging action, implying positive concentration-dependent efficacy. Variations activity occurred wastes sourced at factories, alluding geography having pivotal effect on biological contents antioxidative capacity. Of particular interest were Boito's Chelal's cyclone fluff that evinced relatively lower potency than those other factories. Tombe factory's sample demonstrated superior radicals different concentrations, suggesting production or cultivation processes augmented its effectiveness. Notably, some waste even equalled BHT (a synthetic antioxidant) when augured highest level. Furthermore, this disparities Theaflavin Thearubigin content due factors like maturation period processing methods guiding these concentrations. We identified possessing remarkable polyphenol concentration, thereby providing valuable insights consumers industries. Further investigations chemical composition phytocompounds are paramount acclaimed health-promoting properties influencing concentrations

Tea is a rich source of phytochemicals; their composition in tea extracts varies depending on the cultivar, climate, production region, and processing handling processes. The method extraction plays crucial role determining biological effects bioactive compounds leaves. However, reports catechin profiles antioxidant activities obtained from leaves at different stages maturity are limited. Here, we aimed to evaluate effect ultrasound-assisted (UAE) drying methods, freeze (FD) spray (SD), compounds, phenolic composition, activity part leaves, top (TT), middle (ML), mature (MT), Assam cultivar (

The escalating global challenge of antibiotic resistance demands exploration into alternative sources for antimicrobials. This study investigated the often-overlooked tea waste samples generated during processing from Kenyan factories to uncover novel resources containing potent and effective antimicrobial compounds. In this study, we collected various in Kenya assessed their activity against microorganisms using disk diffusion assay. To quantify efficacy each sample, determined growth inhibition zones minimum inhibitory bactericidal concentrations (MICs MBCs). unveiled diverse levels specific microorganisms. Notably, fluff sample Gitambo factory demonstrated antibacterial effects Clostridium disporicum. Various exhibited a moderate response both Streptococcus pyogenes Escherichia coli, yet they showed minimal no activity, where applicable, towards Staphylococcus aureus Candida albicans. that some effluents, which are often discarded processing, show potential, as certain pathogens. By further optimizing our handling storage practices, could enhance isolation compounds these materials; would provide valuable alternatives combating resistance.
