AbstractAs we know the recent pandemic, coronavirus disease (COVID-19) due to SARS CoV-2 virus has led an increase in consumption of various drugs as medicines by patients. Paracetamol (acetaminophen, APAP) act emerging contaminant classified among class pharmaceutical and personal care pollutant (PPCP) is detected wastewater sewage systems. The enrichment culture approach was used for isolation APAP-degrading bacterium sample. Microscopic examination, biochemical 16S rRNA sequence analysis showed that isolate PYP-2 belongs Bacillus pumilus strain. Shake flask batch degradation studies have shown strain can degrade APAP. Further, response surface methodology (RSM) plot best physical condition biodegradation optimization study. optimum pH 5.0, temperature 30 °C, agitation speed 146 rpm, APAP 267 mg/L concentration were reported PYP-2-based degradation. Capsaicin (CAP), the pain-inducing compound in chili peppers, exerts its effects mainly through transient receptor potential vanilloid channel 1 (TRPV1), which mediates pain perception and some metabolic functions. Abstract Contaminants of emerging concern (CECs) pose a significant threat to human and ecosystem health due their persistence, bioaccumulation in higher trophic levels, potential toxicity. While vivo models are commonly used for toxicity screening, developing alternative vitro techniques rapid environmental risk assessment is essential. The prevalence of chronic non-cancer pain (CNCP) has increased dramatically the past decades, which combined with indiscriminate use prescribed opioids become a public health problem. Abstract Pharmaceutical pollutants, a group of emerging contaminants, have attracted outstanding attention in recent years, and their removal from aquatic environments has been addressed. In the current study, new sponge-based moving bed biofilm reactor (MBBR) was developed to remove chemical oxygen demand (COD) pharmaceutical compound Ibuprofen (IBU). A 30-L pilot scale MBBR constructed, which continuously fed effluent first clarifier Southern Tehran wastewater treatment plant. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and 17α-ethinyl-estradiol (EE2) are among the most relevant endocrine-disrupting pharmaceuticals found in environment, particularly surface drinking water due to their incomplete removal via wastewater treatment plants. Exposure of pregnant mice NSAID therapeutic doses during sex determination period has a negative impact on gonadal development fertility adults; however, effects chronic exposure at lower unknown. Paracetamol is suggested to have endocrine disrupting properties possibly affecting fetal programming of reproductive health that might lead impaired semen quality and changes in hormones. In this longitudinal study, we included 1058 young adult men born 1998-2000 into the Danish National Birth Cohort with follow-up at 18-21 years age. The exposure, maternal intake paracetamol, was modelled three ways: dichotomized, trimester-specific, as duration exposure categorized into: short (1-2 weeks), medium (3-9 weeks) or long (>9 vs. no intake.
