A synthetic approach to ten metabolites of iodosulfuron-methyl sodium and metsulfuron-methyl was performed reported in this study. The compounds interest were prepared by controlled hydrolytic degradation active substances or de novo synthesis from commercially available triazine precursor 10. Obtained characterized IR, NMR, elemental analysis techniques. Metabolites utilized during the development a separation quantification method using reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography coupled with tandem mass spectrometry. validated applied for all studied extracts water samples collected Vistula river (Toruń, Poland).

Abstract A modular strategy is described for the testing and assessment (MoSt) of non-genotoxic carcinogenicity (NGTxC) that suitable regulatory applications. It utilizes builds upon work conducted by OECD expert group on NGTxC. The approach integrates relevant test methods from molecular- to cellular- further tissue level, many which have been recently reviewed. Six progressive modules are included in strategy. Advice provided iterative selection next appropriate method within each step Assessment completed a weight evidence conclusion, different streams information. gives higher findings mechanistically linked with biological relevance carcinogenesis. With focus EU-REACH, pending successful validation acceptance, this will also enable MoSt NGTxC be applied purposes across jurisdictions.

Pesticides enter food primarily through direct application to crops during farming, where residues can remain on the surface or be absorbed into plant tissues. Additionally, pesticide drift from nearby treated areas and contamination of soil water used for irrigation introduce crops, further increasing risk exposure. This paper focuses public health implications in food. The found that pose significant challenges, with potential risks ranging acute toxicity chronic issues such as cancer, endocrine disruption, neurological disorders. Vulnerable populations, including children, pregnant women, elderly, are particularly at risk. Effective regulation monitoring become crucial agricultural sector relies heavily pesticides crop protection. Regulatory bodies World Health Organization (WHO), Food Agriculture United Nations (FAO), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), European Safety Authority (EFSA) play roles setting Maximum Residue Limits (MRLs) ensure safety. However, implementing these regulations faces obstacles, developing countries, resource constraints, lack technical expertise, socio-economic factors impede effective monitoring. Integrating pest management (IPM), advanced techniques consumer education essential mitigate posed by residues. global harmonization standards continued research safer alternatives residue detection methods critical ensuring a secure supply. As practices evolve, multi-stakeholder approach involving policymakers, farmers, consumers will vital reducing exposure safeguarding health.
