Viral cross-species transmission is recognized to be a major threat both human and animal health, however detailed information on determinants underlying virus host tropism susceptibility missing. Influenza C D viruses (ICV, IDV) are two respiratory that share up 50% genetic similarity, employ 9-O-acetylated sialic acids enter cell. While ICV infections mainly restricted humans, IDV possesses much broader has shown have zoonotic potential. This suggests additional virus–host interactions play an important role in the distinct spectrum of IDV. In this study, we aimed characterize innate immune response epithelium biologically relevant species during influenza infection identify possible involved viral transmission. To end, performed characterization primary airway epithelial cell (AEC) cultures from human, porcine, bovine origin. We monitored replication kinetics, cellular tropism, as well transcriptional over time at ambient temperatures. observed predominantly infect ciliated cells, independently temperature. Interestingly, temperature had profound influence porcine AEC cultures, while replicated efficiently irrespective host. Detailed time-resolved transcriptome analysis revealed species-specific uniform responses highlighted 34 immune-related genes with clear virus-specific temperature-dependent profiles. These data provide first comprehensive insights into common virus-host dynamics IDV,

Specific anatomical characteristics make the porcine species especially sensitive to extreme temperature changes, predisposing them pathologies and even death due thermal stress. Interest in improving animal welfare productivity has led development of various lines research that seek understand effect certain environmental conditions on impact implementing strategies designed mitigate adverse effects. The non-invasive infrared thermography technique is one tools most widely used carry out these studies, based detecting changes microcirculation. However, evaluations using this tool require reliable windows; can be challenging because several factors affect sensitivity specificity regions selected. This review discusses windows with domestic pigs association thermoregulatory capacity piglets hogs.

Understanding the genetic characteristics of indigenous goat breeds is crucial for their conservation and breeding efforts. Hainan black goats, as a native breed south China's tropical island province Hainan, possess distinctive traits such hair, moderate growth rate, good meat quality, small body size. However, they exhibit exceptional resilience to rough feeding conditions, high-quality meat, show remarkable resistance stress heat. In this study, we resequenced whole genome goats study economic basis these leveraged whole-genome sequencing data from 33 analyze single nucleotide polymorphism(SNP) density, Runs homozygosity (ROH), Integrated Haplotype Score (iHS), effective population size (Ne), Nucleotide diversity Analysis (Pi) selection characteristics. Our findings revealed that harbor substantial degree variation, with total 23 608 983 polymorphisms (SNPs) identified. ROHs identified 53 710 segments, predominantly composed short fragments, inbreeding events mainly occurring in ancient ancestors, estimates based on ROH typically values ranging 0.107 0.186. This primarily attributed significant declines over recent generations. Moreover, 921 candidate genes within intersection region iHS. Several are associated immunity (PTPRC, HYAL1, HYAL2, HYAL3, CENPE PKN1), heat tolerance (GNG2, MAPK8, CAPN2, SLC1A1 LEPR), quality (ACOX1, SSTR1, CAMK2B, PPP2CA PGM1), cashmere production (AKT4, CHRM2, OXTR, AKT3, HMCN1 CDK19), (TLR2, IFI44, ENPP1, STK3 NFATC1). This study evaluated applicability of humidity index (THI)-based ventilation systems installed in buildings using building energy simulation model. Based monitoring data an actual pig house, integrated predictive performance and model was calibrated. Additionally, environment existing temperature-based control THI-controlled compared through simulations. The average THI section exceeding threshold were both lower to system. because part load ratio fans higher than system, indicating better ventilation. These results suggest THI-based can overcome limitations effectively improve thermal stress management buildings. portrays be improved by simply changing variables, while presenting field research value environments.

This paper aims to provide an updated review and current understanding of the impact extreme temperatures—focusing on heat stress (HS)—on quality pork poultry meat, particularly amidst unprecedented global rise in environmental temperatures. Acute or chronic HS can lead development pale, soft, exudative (PSE) meat during short transportation dark, firm, dry (DFD) associated with long seasonal changes meat. While is more likely result PSE cold (CS) commonly linked DFD Methods aimed at mitigating effects include showering (water sprinkling/misting) transport, as well control adequate ventilation rates truck, which not only improve animal welfare but also reduce mortality incidence To mitigate CS, bedding trailers closing tracks’ curtains (insulation) are viable strategies. Ongoing efforts minimize deterioration due CS must prioritize livestock focus scaleup laboratory testing commercial applications.
