Abstract There is a long history in environmental sciences to investigate and understand the fate of chemicals environment. For pesticides, this has led systematic assessments compounds by both academic regulatory bodies, particularly for soil water. As we show here, recent years, there an increasing interest potential presence pesticide residues air related exposure risks. Based on literature review years 2002–2022, find growing number monitoring studies with average 6.7 studies/year since 2020, passive sampling methods contributing significantly rise. Most are concentrated Europe North America, France leading studies. However, due lack harmonization, thus, use diverse approaches, it remains challenging derive risks, assess data quality studies, compare datasets. In perspective, focus current emerging trends different approaches highlight how they influence interpretation data. To improve comparability utility data, ensure that monitorings meet certain requirements, propose path forward, including: (1) Standardization harmonization methods: Adopting well-characterized widely applied from research as basis standardizing monitoring, clear distinction between relevant total concentrations. (2) Tiered approach programs: A dynamic concept where initial identifies followed active quantitative and, if necessary, extensive programs. This balances need detailed resource constraints. (3) Data transparency: Public availability reporting methods, analysis, uncertainties crucial credibility Overall, see standards critical assessing risks pesticides informing decisions mitigation strategies. Collaboration atmospheric community strongly recommended leverage existing expertise sampling, interpretation.

Under the rapid urbanization process, PM2.5 pollution has become an increasingly critical issue. Changes in land-use types will inevitably affect concentration. Meanwhile, problem of imbalance and inadequacy regional development remains prominent. This study took Huaihe River Ecological Economic Belt as research object, integrating spatial econometric model with Geographically Temporally Weighted Regression (GTWR) Multiscale (MGWR) models, to investigate spatiotemporal heterogeneity spillover effect association between concentration land use from 1998 2021. The main findings are follows: (1) area 2021 showed upward then a downward trend, taking 2013 turning point, respective magnitudes 50.4% 42.1%; (2) exerts significant on pollution. Except for grassland cropland, direct each type exceeds its indirect effect; (3) influence exhibits variations. impact coefficient forests relatively consistent across entire region, whereas that water bodies, impervious surfaces varies markedly different regions, particularly northeastern southern cities area. results this may give new ideas collective governance joint environmental remediation probably provide some basis formulation air control policies urban planning.

This study was performed to determine the pattern of particulate matter (PM10 and PM2.5) emitted from agriculture in South Korea by monitoring its concentrations paddy fields real time for one year. The highest average seasonal concentration PM10 measured spring (59.94 ± 22.82 μg/m3), followed winter (59.00 11.40 autumn (40.10 9.67 summer (28.3 8.5 μg/m3). For PM2.5, (27.27 6.42 (16.98 3.43 (16.32 7.51 (14.40 5.21 Real-time showed that PM2.5 some had spring, especially April when farming operations begin, with moderate levels lowest summer. By day, higher were generally evening at night agricultural workers not present, but on days high concentrations, fine dust derived field can pose a health threat any day or night. Therefore, it is important raise awareness risk exposure among through information, education, training April, cultivation begins during season. Agricultural are also advised check level regular basis take preventive measures such as spraying, stopping activities, adjusting working hours high. Raising risks even more urgent older, health-sensitive foreign migrant workers.

PM2.5 particles with an aerodynamic diameter of less than 2.5 μm are receiving increasing attention in China. Understanding how complex factors affect is crucial for the prevention air pollution. This study investigated influence meteorological and land use on dynamics concentrations four urban agglomerations China at different scales from 2010 to 2020, using Durbin spatial domain model (SDM) five grid scales. The results showed that average annual concentration core generally had a downward trend, types were closely related concentration. impact temperature changed significantly increase scale, while other did not lead obvious changes. direct spillover effects inland coastal entirely consistent. wind speed clusters (the Pearl River agglomeration (PRD) Yangtze (YRD)) was significant among factors, but it Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei (BTH) Chengdu–Chongqing (CC)). effect type U-shaped change research scale YRD, almost twice as large effect. Among human (impermeable surfaces) found have greater agglomerations, natural (forests) agglomerations. Therefore, targeted policies alleviate should be formulated combined local climate measures such artificial precipitation, planning carried out under consideration known impacts.
