This study reports on the whole genome sequencing of hazelnut endophytic Fusarium isolate Hzn5 from Poland. It was identified as a member citricola species complex based phylogenetic analysis which also pointed out that other isolates, previously F. lateritium and tricinctum, actually belong to this complex. Genome annotation allowed mapping 4491 different protein sequences assembly. A further in silico search for their potential biosynthetic activity showed predicted genes are involved 1110 metabolic pathways. Moreover, sequence carried comparison another isolate, an agent gray necrosis Italy, revealed homology several regions containing gene clusters bioactive secondary metabolites. The resulting indications aptitude concerning some emerging mycotoxins, such enniatins culmorin, should be taken into consideration with reference possible contamination hazelnuts derived products.

This study explored how potted treatments (with and without Scleroderma bovista inoculation) shape rhizosphere microbial diversity in hazel across five soils using split-root cultivation. Three (control, split-root, with S. bovista) were analyzed for root growth dynamics. inoculation consistently enhanced parameters (number, tips) all soils. Potted altered features (OTU/ASV), only 0.9–3.3% of remaining unchanged. At the class level, potting increased Agaricomycetes abundance while reducing Sordariomycetes, a trend amplified by bovista. Potting decreased species richness estimates (ACE Chao1), both lowered index (Shannon index). drove stronger shifts composition than inoculation. Findings reveal synergistically recruit symbiotic fungi via exudates, establishing disease-suppressive communities that selectively inhibit pathotrophic (particularly plant pathogen Coniothyrium fungal parasite Cladobotryum) roughly maintaining non-pathogenic saprotrophic microbes essential organic matter decomposition. work provides insights optimizing orchard management ectomycorrhizal agent development.
