Since the 1970s, issue of ageing farmers and generational renewal in agriculture has consistently attracted attention policymakers. However, despite successive reforms European Union Structural Funds, efforts to encourage young people enter agricultural sector remain largely focused on rural policies, specifically First Settlement scheme. This paper highlights role Union’s development policy supporting encouraging agriculture.
