In the present state of environmental degradation world where plastic pollution has become a major concern, resultant microplastic (MP) occurrence is rapidly growing debate irrespective geographical boundary or compartments. Notwithstanding that soil principal sink residues; unfortunately, it remained almost unexplored compared to aquatic environment. However, researchers in their quest for 'Green' solution this colossal issue have globally extensively worked on bioremediation MP from current study, we unveiled that, bacteria, fungi, plants, biochar, earthworms, and even larvae some species, are being used advance potential technique MPs. process, polymers broken down innocuous monomers, like carbon-di-oxide, methane, water, biomass by action wide range micro-organisms. Moreover, since effectiveness method sensitive different types biotic-abiotic factors, condition soil, MPs microorganisms involved; various optimization techniques, devised improve process.
