ABSTRACT The energy demand has led to the depletion of fossil fuels, resulting in environmental degradation and negative impacts on human health. natural resources severe implications for environment life. Energy use, depletion, are major threats world's resources. As global population grows, continues increase. This increased consumption, degradation. article examines impact e nergy use China from 1973 2019, using CO 2 emissions forest rents as moderating variables. To this end, a time‐series analysis is employed analyze data World Development Indicators. results suggest that resource increase emissions, while negatively correlated with depletion. These significant further prove importance managing China. Protecting preserving essential reducing conserving should introduce policies protect preserve resources, such setting up protected areas wildlife, limiting exploitation encouraging sustainable use.

The effects of root exudates and irrigation with treated wastewater on heavy metal mobility soil bacterial composition under intercropping remain poorly understood. We conducted a pot experiment maize soybean grown in monocultures or intercultures, irrigated either groundwater wastewater. In addition, the pre-collected from hydroponic culture mono- inter-cropped were applied to at four levels (0 %, 16 32 % 64 %). results showed that application increased plant growth nutrient content. analysis "Technique for Order Preference by Similarity Ideal Solution" higher biomass lower Cd Pb concentrations indicated best performance was recorded exudates, score 0.926 0.953 Pb, respectively. second-best also observed exudates. Root exudate reduced metals migration soil-plant system, greater impact than monocropping. certain microorganisms application, regardless water. This study suggests appropriate could potentially improve health, reduce toxic soils plants

Innovative wastewater treatment is becoming increasingly critical in addressing global water scarcity and pollution challenges. This abstract explores synergistic approaches that integrate advanced technologies, resource recovery, collaborative frameworks to enhance efficiency sustainability. Advanced including anaerobic membrane bioreactors (AnMBRs) bioelectrochemical systems, are highlighted for their ability effectively remove contaminants while recovering valuable resources such as energy nutrients. These systems not only improve effluent quality but also reduce the environmental footprint of processes. Moreover, decentralized nature-based solutions, constructed wetlands, gaining traction cost-effectiveness ecological benefits. The integration recovery practices, represents a holistic strategy enhancing treatment, ensuring sustainable management, protecting public health environment.

To mitigate the scarcity of freshwater resources, humans have increasingly reused treated wastewater for various purposes, with irrigation accounting over 70 % daily water consumption. While reuse offers a sustainable solution conserving potable and non-potable water, reclamation processes can environmental health implications, including greenhouse gas emissions, energy consumption, pathogen exposure. Life cycle assessment (LCA) has been employed to assess midpoint endpoint level impacts, such as human disease burden. Likewise, quantitative microbial risk (QMRA) is valuable tool evaluating local risks, exposures during irrigation. Both LCA (to quantify indicators burden) QMRA burden on health) use common metric, disability-adjusted life years (i.e., DALY), which measure overall that represents number lost due ill-health, disability, or early death per person year (DALYpppy). By combining QMRA, we quantitatively risks associated reuse. This study aims estimate accumulated attributed operation an anoxic/anoxic/oxic/oxic treatment process subsequent agricultural irrigation, using (DALYs). Our findings indicate operations contribute global 8.08×10-7 DALYs (DALYpppy), while pose impact 2.40×10-2 DALYpppy, emphasizing importance disinfection

Increasing concerns over water pollution have driven the search for sustainable wastewater treatment alternatives. This study evaluates effectiveness of two coagulants derived from Moringa oleifera seeds–powder and extract–as solutions reuse in agriculture. Comparative experiments were conducted using aluminum sulfate, a conventional coagulant, at various doses under controlled laboratory conditions. The results demonstrated that both M. oleifera-based highly effective, achieving turbidity reductions 97% 99%, respectively. Notably, powder form required lower than extract but had longer sedimentation times. Further detailed analyses optimized (500 mg/500 mL 12.5 mL/500 extract) met international standards quality agricultural irrigation. Comprehensive encompassing pH, turbidity, COD, BOD5, TSS, DO, conductivity, NO2−, NO3−, SO42−, PO43−, fecal total coliforms consistently adhered to stringent criteria, confirming oleifera-derived coagulants. These findings highlight potential treatment, offering environmental challenges enhancing food security resource-limited regions. Our research supports broader adoption these eco-friendly alternatives, which could significantly reduce scarcity promote practices, addressing critical concerns.
