Hybrid rice typically surpasses conventional in terms of biomass, yield, and stress resistance, whereas developing utilizing saline–alkali-tolerant hybrid is crucial to obtain crop harvests from salt-affected soils. In the present study, varieties (paternal parents), i.e., Hua-Zhan 9311, four varieties, Xiang-Liang-You-Hua-Zhan, Jing-Liang-You-Hua-Zhan, Guang-8-You-Hua-Zhan, Y-Liang-You-1-Hao, denoted as V1, V2, V3, V4, V5, V6, respectively, received an application two salt levels, 0% 0.3% saltwater irrigation, during 2022–2023. The results reveal that V1 (parental parent) had highest tolerance index, which was significantly greater than its V5. Moreover, index V2 also (V6). lower might be owing relative loss number effective panicles, total grains per panicle, seed setting rate, thousand-grain weight. our study revealed appearance different enhanced at a concentration 0.3%. Among all cultivars, largest reductions chalkiness chalky grain rate were observed 81.13% 63.49%, well 84.03% 87.53%, respectively. protein sodium contents sodium-potassium ratio cultivars increased under stress; however, no significant effect on cooking or sensory quality noticed saline conditions. Overall, negatively affected yield quality, but more salt-tolerant rice, harnessing heterosis improve saline-tolerant rice.

Soil salinity represents a significant factor affecting agricultural productivity and crop quality. Saline-alkali stress is a major abiotic factor that adversely affects the growth, development, and yield of crops by disrupting ion homeostasis, osmotic balance, metabolic processes. This study was designed to explore alleviating effect melatonin on growth development tomato plants under saline-alkali conditions screen for optimal concentrations alleviate stress. Brown rice over-milling causes high economic and nutrient loss. The degree of milling (DOM) detection prediction remain a challenge for moderate processing. In this study, self-established grain image acquisition platform was built. Degree bran layer remaining (DOR) datasets is established with capturing processing (grain color, texture, shape features extraction). mapping relationship between DOR the DOM in-depth analyzed. Soda saline–alkaline stress significantly impedes the rice grain filling process and ultimately impacts yield. Biochar has been shown to mitigate negative of on plants. However, exact mechanism by which biochar influences grain-filling rate in soda soil is still not fully understood. A two-year field experiment was conducted with two nitrogen fertilizer levels (0 225 kg ha−1) five application rates [0% (B0), 0.5% (B1), 1.5% (B2), 3.0% (B3), 4.5% (B4) biochar, w/w]. The results demonstrated that had a significant impact reducing Na+ concentration Na+/K+ ratio grown lands, while also improving its physiological conditions. B1, B2, B3, B4 showed notable increase average 5.76%, 6.59%, 9.80%, 10.79%, respectively, compared B0; time reach maximum weight saw increases ranging from 6.02% 12.47% 7.85% 14.68%, respectively. Meanwhile, particularly when used conjunction fertilizer, notably enhanced activities sucrose synthase (SuSase), ADPG pyrophosphorylase (AGPase), starch (StSase), branching enzyme (SBE) grains lands. Furthermore, yield increased 11.95–42.74% treatments B0 treatment. These findings improves regulating ionic balance, indicators, synthesis key activities, paddy fields.
